I agree. I wonder though... If her mom were here today, would she look back on her parenting and wish she had done things differently? Not excusing anything, but I wonder if the way she was raised had anything to do with this. Did her mom always let her get away with things and not hold her accountable or not give her enough responsibilities growing up, and then when life happened, she was unprepared to deal with it?

I don't see that there's any need to vilify this family who has been given by the defense and mental health experts something to cling to that might explain this tragedy. They are just a family who want to believe that their loved one wouldn't do such an irrational, selfish thing, so it's easier to think it wasn't really her fault. We see it in family murder cases all the time; they can't do anything about the person who's dead, they just want to salvage what's left -- often, that means they must believe in the innocence of the killer. I'm not saying if it's right or wrong of them, but I can understand why a family who has been told by all these experts that their loved one isn't really evil would want to believe that.

The State has done spectacular job in closing and rebuttal 👍👍👍 I hope the jury sees the truth through the evidence, and deliver justice for Brenda Powell. It’s sad that the entire family “pleaded with the judge” that a trial is unnecessary. She is now a risk to society! If she’s truly mentally I’ll, why isn’t she in a psychiatric facility. Back in the 90's my sister, didn't pass a bunch of classes and got kicked out of her university. My parents were paying 100% of everything and I guess she didn't want to give up the life of mooching. However, my sister didn't bludgeoned my parents. This is called entitlement and greed! I hope the jury does the right thing and sentence her to life.

It saddens me that Brenda's own husband and mother aren't sticking up for their wife/daughter. It irks me how grandma had no visible emotion for the loss of her daughter. I understand she doesn't want to lose her granddaughter, but if Sydney is found guilty, grandma can visit her in prison. Her daughter is gone forever.

Jmo: when cop arrived , Sydney repeatedly saying “she told me to get out”. I wonder if Brenda was kicking her out and that’s what pushed her over the edge? Definitely no insane, she has been spoiled, entitled and noe her dad , grandma are her biggest enablers!! Very tragic
@carlieproctor7482

I believe her repeating “she told me to get out” was part to her attempt to set a scene that there was an intruder. She was trying to say her mom told her to get out and away from the intruder . Basically trying come up with a reason as to why the so called “intruder” only murdered Brenda and not the both of them..very premeditated.

Snapping is grabbling the frying pan and hitting her Mom. Premeditation is grabbing a knife next. Guilty!

Not if she carried the cast iron skillet into a whole other room in order to hit her with it.... thats not snapping either. She didnt snap. Prosecutor explained it all perfectly during closing arguments. Everything she did was to buy herself time. She was so afraid of having her mom find out she was "average" in college, and no longer one of the top students like in HS. She was stressing over it for weeks leading up to it, and every lie she told and every move she made, was to buy time. She was officially out of time and had no other way out anymore. Both were premeditated and she knew right from wrong in the moment.

@@emoliver80 Good point! I agree with you. Going to another room (the kitchen) to get the skillet and walking with it to the bedroom isn't snapping. I stand corrected. Thank you.

This prosecutor is very methodical and thorough in putting the evidence together for anyone mindset to visualize the facts of this case. It makes me wonder how her family views her after these closing journey of the step by step facts. This was not a person with schizophrenia behavior. I am highly impressed with his closing instructions to the jury. I hope her family is smart enough to remove their naive mentality and face tge truth now.

It is so obvious that her attorney has told her not to shower or brush her hair so she appears to be a homeless crazy person. When you watch the video of her walking to the courtroom and she doesn't realize she is being recorded, she is strutting along with confidence. Once she is in the courtroom, she is playing the part of a medicated waif and pulls her hair into a rat's nest. The prosecutor is right, she went outside to break the window and was thinking quite clearly. I hope the jury sees through this act

It's crazy to me that this maternal grandmother defends her granddaughter. Her granddaughter MURDERED her daughter. Killed HER baby! For absolutely NO reason whatsoever!! I have 3 daughters and 4 granddaughters but I can NOT imagine not being loyal to my child and defending her honor and fighing for justice for her, if my granddaughter killed one of my baby girls!! This case is CRAZY- but Sydney is NOT! GUILTY!!

Her family will never "lose" her like they lost her mother. They will be able to visit her and talk to her when the jury finds her guilty, straight guilty. They can love her all they want eventhough she did what she did. That is their prerogative to do so but why couldn't they love her mom more? Especially why can her own mother lover her more. None of us will ever know why they have brushed Brenda Powell aside. This jury won't do that as they will find Sydney Powell guilty-straight guilty because she does not have and didn't at the time she murdered her mom, did not have a serious mental illness. It is comforting that she is stable and doing well out on bail living with her grandmother working on her farm because then she will do fine living in a max prison for potentially the rest of her life. It is unbelievable that this young woman sleeps well at her grandmas knowing that she killed her mother over her own doing of failing in school.

Well said, great rebuttal. Guilty in the eyes of the Law 💯 ...does she look upset...remorseful...no she doesn't. She's a Psychotic Narcissist, who couldn't handle being held accountable....She Murdered...BUTCHERED her own Mother, because she was doing what every good parent do, being able to say "No, no more" when your child is in the wrong. If she were to be found not guilty, then everyone in close proximity of her needs to be on Top Alert 24/7!!! Nasty, Evil Entitled Narcissist, lock her up and throw away the key.
