Not surprised. Besides if I tell the real skinny on what happened. a. I might in up in federal jail b. If I do they won't believe that it actually happened. But API and & Reuters is truthful. LOL My Military ID indefinite expiration date I D card is not good for commercial airline flights. But I can fly space A on military flights. Not that I fly any more. Not medically advisable. So which is real? The one that says Identification Card, Property of the US Government or the one that states it is a Driver License.. I bought one and the other is issued. Oh and I do not know of anyone that has a issued indefinite US DoD ID that is not a US citizen. I can understand why it is not acceptable. You have to have US government permission to copy it. Maybe that standing up thing and swearing to upholding the Constitution and that other thing about foreign & domestic is also too disturbing.

The "more convenient and secure" the government makes things the less secure and private your day to day life is. A real ID DL has a full set of fingerprints, home address etc etc thats on the license as well as coded on the barcodes and/or rfid ...and it only works for domestic flights. Passport proves citizenship, gets you in/out the country, requires no other documents to prove identity and someone couldnt obtain anything more than name birthday and state you lived when it was issued even if you handed it to them. The state isn't the bad guy. You have to provide proof of citizenship or legal residency for real id. It looks like his parents just never reported the birth aboard. If you are born aboard(Canada here), your parents have to submit a "Consular Report of Birth Abroad" which shows you got citizenship at birth. At which point you will be issued a US birth certificate. This was true when he was born. If this was not done then you must submit an application with your foreign birth certificate and proof of citizenship for your parents(you can request their birth certificate). This isn't to give you citizenship which you got through your parents but to get proof of citizenship and it won't take years.
@douglasphillips12033 күн бұрын
This exactly. Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon making a big deal of this but it's clearly spelled out in the documentation for the Real ID. Now, the state is crap for pulling his regular DL, which his current birth certificate would be plenty for.
