How crazy is it that a song from an amazing and groundbreaking piece of musical theater would transcend and become an anthem for a whole state?
@donaldreynolds68578 ай бұрын
The state song of Oklahoma, written in Manhattan by a pair of native New Yorkers who had never actually been to Oklahoma. But we Oklahomans don't care because we love our song.

It's set just before statehood was achieved by Oklahoma. That would put it in the first decade of the 20th century, so it would have been the period of that kind of dialect!

Colorado is better than Oklahoma. Oklahoma is hell for me. Not because of tornadoes. There are more racist people than hippies in Oklahoma. The state also hates Jews. I am a Jew and I am completely offended by the state of Oklahoma. I was born in Colorado and still live in Colorado to this day.
