I’ve been making some other kinds of earrings and have been interested in clay earrings for some time. I just put it together this evening that polymer clay (duh, polymer) is plastic. It’s nice to hear you talk about waste throughout the entire video. Realizing that makes me want to reconsider... or maybe just reconsider the methods I use to make earrings. I do love that scraps don’t cure on their own & can be used on projects later, so there are upsides. Anyway, this video was incredibly helpful, so generous, and your personality is fucking awesome. Thanks for sharing your craft!! xo
@pollycollective5 жыл бұрын
Caroline Moon Yes it’s a hugely important decision to make. Maybe you could focus on using just scraps or find ways to use clay minimally. At the end of the day lots of mediums we use to make Jewellery are plastic or versions of it (Acrylic, Resin, Polymer Clay) it’s so important to be aware and really think about mindfully making.

holli haddix a lot of makers leave their slabs for a couple of hours then come back to it, or you can cut on a tile, and use a blade to get it off the tile (I do exactly what Im doing in the video)
