As I understand it, this was basically a bedroom recording project. Props. It’s still fucking fantastic.

Never knew there were non homophobic and pro choice hardline . We learn everyday!

Which is completely pretentious and backwards. People choose to be "Straight" about benign issues that don't actually make a fuck to anybody, but are open minded and inclusive about issues where a real ACTUAL dividing line exists. The fact is its cowardice that guides their position. Because they know that certain societal dogmas don't allow for any deviation of opinion on issues like gay/trans rights etc. But they've convinced themselves that they're rebels because they don't eat meat. Lol! What a joke. That's a carefully picked position. They know where PC culture allows for rebellion and where it doesn't....and they make damn sure they toe that line. It's the furthest thing from hardline. It's soft as butter, in fact.

Really good, hard to come by too. Even though these got lumped into the hardline straight edge thing.... musically they bring to mind Sacrilege or a punkier Bolt Thrower.

This is a great record, luckily came across it a few years ago for $12. You are right, definitely more of a 80s UK crust/metal influence. The whole hardline vegan straight edge thing is tricky because people tend to associate it more 90s metallic hardcore a la Earth Crisis when bands like statement and vegan reich had more in common with 80s anarcho/peace punk and the like
@alansands1908 Жыл бұрын
@@unbridledenthusiasm statement and vegan reich were definitely influenced by the uk anarcho punk scene of the early 80s. this was pretty much statements first venture into a more metal style. the musical influence, altho not obvious here, was slayer.

to be true in the beginning krishna hardcore included pro life, no materialism, no casual sex , and quite homophobic, beyond veganism and vegetarianism, with a poison free attitude (no alcohol, drugs, tobacco) then they changed drastically, giving a U Turn at all
