Thank you so much Rachel and Nikki for the lovely mension and thank you for the beautiful Lola too!💕 You are so inspiring and I love the coat colours and styles. I would now like to go to the fabric store now and start sewing again after a long time ☺

I am a huge fan of the vikisews patterns, especially since they come also drafted for shorter persons. Since I am cheap and always use the Russian instructions and a translator, I read it bit by bit, but now I am thinking I maybe need a pattern with the good sounding English instructions. Thank you for taking us through your beautiful coats.

Wow - gorgeous colors and fun styles! This video reminded me of my sewing journey with the Closet Core Jasika Blazer with royal blue wool and Bemberg lining! I keep forgetting to wear it, so I took it off the mannequin and put it on the back of the kitchen chair to wear it tomorrow. Thanks Ladies!!! Hugs from Oregon.

Really interesting to hear all about the coat making; they look gorgeous by the way! You've really galvanised me into looking at the Viki Sews patterns as they look gorgeous. Would be interested in another review of the same pattern company. Thanks!

Absolutely beautiful coats, ladies!! It’s cool to see you be challenged and that you enjoyed the process. I’m still at the extremely nervous, almost scared stage, and I’m still doing much easier projects! I loved the in depth descriptions of your sewing process on the coats. I agree with Nikki that her sleeves could be a bit longer, but the coat looks totally amazing as is. As always, I love your videos! Thank you! 💕💜💕

Thanks for the inspiration ladies! I love how unique each of the makes is, and have been meaning to make the Traveller Coat (which looks a whole list like the Viki Sews pattern). Please do sew the crop jacket and pant combo because that’s next on my list - just can’t quite decide what size pant to get because I’m rather apple shaped.

I LOVE these coats! The colors are not something I would normally choose for myself, but you ladies look absolutely fabulous! I really like Rachel’s hair. That balance of color is spot on! The way you have styled the coats is stunning! Love your videos. Thanks so much for sharing.

I sewed the free Vikki sews Nikki sweater and even the as a freebie the instructions are very good, even to the point of telling you to baste the ribbed neckband on which I've never done before and it came out perfect! Love 💖 your coats

I sewed the Anne cargo pants from Vikisews and I do love the details and the unusual pockets. I would say that the instructions (for an experienced sewist who has been sewing since teen years), it was a bit too detailed. I love new techniques, too but if you want to jump ahead, there was pages and pages to get through. I’m actually just making a second pair right now…(you’re my background sewing vlog!)

Really colorpopping coats 🤩🤩🤩 Rachel regarding your coat seam hemming: in tailoring school we interface the hem and the area opposite it, so whem hemming it, the you can use the interfacing to pick up treads instead of picking up the wool. Of course making a few samples before is needed 😊

Beautiful coats ladies. Those colours are amazing on you both 💙💖 Shame about the issues with the lining and your finishing off Rachel. Really great info for us viewers as always. 😻😻
@StitchSisters2 жыл бұрын
The lining was worth it in the long run as it is so lux and gorgeous but just difficult to work with. You just never know as a sewist how the fabric will react Hope your well lovely lady 😘

Centuries ago at age 16 took my first sewing lesson at a Singer sewing store. Teacher discouraged using Vogue patterns because there were too many pages to follow. Of course!!, I ignored that advice and picked a Vogue suit to sew (teenagers always know so much more!!). Yes there were a lot of directions and my "suit" definitely was not Saville Road tailoring, but it was a fantastic way to learn. Point being, the more directions and the more learning, the better I was at sewing. P.S. My friends were very kind when I wore it, but years later they fessed up to seeing the less than stellar job I did. They did trust me later and had me make them garments.

Such absolutely fabulous coats....what gorgeous colours!!! Are those a pair of green Flint trousers, lovely drape. I have used Pattern Easy Donatella trousers and jacket patterns for my daughter that are really well drafted and fit perfectly on her. She is tall and being able to choose patterns drafted for her height was excellent. I have 3 in a week for her with more planned. xxx

Great video. Interesting to hear about the details. At about 15.05 it looks like you insert Nikki’s photos over Rachel’s description? I’m tempted by a Vikki sews pattern definitely
@StitchSisters2 жыл бұрын
The example coat made by Trend Patterns is fushia pink, the same colour as Rachel’s but it is the one made by Trend Patterns themselves. Apologies for any confusion.

Would it be possible to lengthen Nikki's Trend coat sleeves or is the pattern piece so complicated that it's not possible? I have long arms and don't want elbow length sleeves!
@StitchSisters2 жыл бұрын
You could simply lengthen the cuff, this would be a lot less complicated! If you wanted to lengthen the actual sleeve I would suggest contacting Trend patterns and asking their advice as there is no lengthen/shorten line on the pattern. They may be able to help
@jancampen77702 жыл бұрын
@@StitchSisters Thank you for your helpful info.. I suspected it wouldn't be straightforward to lengthen sleeves! Great coat tho . . .
