Great episode! So interesting! What places in Shenzhen would you definitely recommend to visit?

In terms of factories that will be answered in the next couple of episodes however a timed visit with Maker Faire Shenzhen in 2018, the Huaqiangbei electronics markets ( allow several days for this) and a visit to the xFactory is a good start. I'm glad you liked the episode. Cheers

how do those component shops survive ? does not look like all of them selling well.

They seem to do OK probably because most also ship to customers via Aliexpress, Taobao etc. The sound of packing tape being used is everywhere as you walk through!

i see. so this is where they ship our stuff from, when we order parts on aliexpress .....

Many are storefronts for factories and warehouses. Some are mom & pop businesses but in answer to your question - yes many sell to anyone including the internet!

An American Designer and her problems with a Chinese Manufacturer and the changes they unilaterally made with her design .
