Just for context, these are the current level tiers in South America (based on world cup qualifer performances): Tier 1: Argentina and Uruguay. Tier 2: Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil and Venezuela. Tier 3: Paraguay and Chile. Tier 4: Peru and Bolivia. From Concacaf i think Canada and Mexico could be in tier 2 level, the US and Costa Rica in tier 3 and as for Jamaica it could be tier 3 as well, but the recent turmoils put then closer to tier 4. Finally just want to remember that teams like Chile, Peru and Paraguay, have a trend of performing better in Copa America than in WC qualifiers, the opposite applies to Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.

Colombia is in the Tier 1.5 level as is Brazil. I argue so is Uruguay unless they win this cup. Mexico and Canada are NOT in that league. They are not even at the level of Chile to be honest with you. Chile belongs in that second tier. Perhaps in the Paraguay Level.

I agree Colombia does have a history of choking in big tournaments but...I don't see that with this team. That's a tough-minded team right now and they KNOW they can score goals against top opponents. I would say Colombia is alone in Tier 1.5.
