Thanks for a GREAT review. I’ll be on the Queen Elizabeth, my first time on Cunard, cruising the Caribbean from Florida in 2026. Thanks for explaining the plugs. I’ve got 43 cruises on Princess & have a full bag of charging cables & adapters learning from many cruises, plus 2 European adapters. My favorite device has 3 sockets for plugging in other AC items plus 2 usd & 2 usbc. Thanks for the tip about the socket near the lamp. Now to develop my Queens English. I like to check in & board as soon as the boarding starts. Any problems arriving early? Thanks again.

I have recently found out that the Queen Elizabeth built 2010 is basically the same deck plan and build as the Luminosa 2009, same shipyard. Seeing as you have been on both, naturally it is one cruiseline as opposed to another. Apart from the finishing off, quality of decor, colour scheme and utilisation of different parts of the ship was this apparent to you? Because the layout of the balcony cabin was certainly very much the same.

Hi and thanks for the comment. There are similarities but they are not the same that you would notice. In fact Queen Elizabeth is a Vista Class ship and Luminosa is based on the Spirit Class hybrid with Vista Class. The decor etc. really detracts from any similarities in the main parts of the ships.

@@robandalicruisetravel thank you for your comment. I was just wondering, maybe one day we may sail Cunard to see for ourselves. 😊

They don't come round this way too often, unfortunately. We actually found the price to be pretty competitive compared to some of the other cruise lines and we expected it to be a lot more, being Cunard. What was really nice was the build up and the little welcome cards they send. Makes it feel really special.

I thought you were only able to take one bottle of wine per person on board? You say you can take all your drinks? Can you please clarify this for me. Thanks
@robandalicruisetravel Жыл бұрын
Hi Liz. On Cunard sailing from Australia you are allowed to take as much alcohol on board as you like. We checked it out on the website (FAQs, type in alcohol and look under can I take alcohol on board to consume in my stateroom, or something similar). We were skeptical so we called up Cunard and they confirmed. We went through security at Melbourne and declared our dozen or so cans of beer and a few bottles of wine and they said it was fine and in line with Cunard policy. Can't say any more than that. Hope this helps

@@robandalicruisetravel aha, I am assuming then it's only on Australian cruises, lucky them and you. On all the paperwork they are sending it's definitely only one bottle each. Thanks for your reply. 👍

Ha ha. I did grow a beard a little while back but it was so itchy that I just couldn't bear it. It'd probably be grey now but with my hair style I'd probably keep getting mistaken for Max Gawn.
