Wayne static of static x passed away in November of 2014 sadly he's a great artist very unique. Classified his music as Evil Disco. I suggest you check out any of his songs. I love the song called So I also recommend the trance is in motion. I want to effin break it another great one. I'm with stupid is great.

I love the bassist Tony Campos's bass lines throughout their entire discography. Hes a really nice dude too I met him very briefly a couple years ago when they were on tour for a tribute to Wayne. The new guy actually sounds a lot like him, Its not exactly the same but I was pleasantly surprised. They're one of my favorite bands, maybe not as skilled or anything as a lot of others but still one of the most unique bands out there

Taking me WAY BACK! Static X was a formative band of my youth and one of the first bands I ever saw live! Their first album really set a tone, and though they fell off my radar after their second album, Wisconsin Death Trip remains an important fixture of industrial nu-metal. If I may recommend BLED FOR DAYS as an exemplary track.

Super bummed that I never got to see these guys perform. My favourite tracks are probably Permanence, Otsegolectric, I'm the One and Start a War. They definitely carved out their own sound. It's always awesome to revisit their material.

I totally dig Static-X. There are a few weaker albums later on but overall they are great. The new tribute Project Regeneration as a tribute to the late Wayne Static is also really good and surprisingly heartfelt and touching. You could go with one of their most popular tracks, "Push It".

Another comment to add to this cuz I saw a video where the audio layers were literally stripped back on their song Push It (which I think would make a cool video here), but they had mad use of live drums mixed with triggered drum machines, along with synth textures, plus the obvious guitars and bass (bass doing some really cool stuff on its own).

I really do miss Static-X and Wayne was truly a master. You have got to cover either Push It or I'm with Stupid. That truly showcases Wayne's voice and all the way until the end he was able to perform live with the exact same sound! By the way, the version of the video you were watching is edited to add effects from the featuring of the song in the movie "Queen of the Damned". They aren't really a goth/vampire inspired band. :D

Randomly saw this band playing at like 3 am in an irish pub a few months before their first album came out. Had no idea who they were at the time. Just them on a tiny stage in the corner of the bar area. Was blown away ...next time they came through town, they were opening for someone else(Soulfly, maybe?, cant remember) in an actual show, i think they were part of Ozzfest at the time, and it was going on that weekend somewhere close by, and they came down for one show ... ended up eating dinner with them and a bunch of other people(musicians, record industry people, etc) before the show at the Hard Rock Cafe on Beale St. in Memphis across the street from the venue. Wayne was pretty quiet to be honest, seemed pretty down to earth and serious about his music. Been a huge fan ever since. Wisconsin Death Trip was an amazing album

The industrial tone they pioneered is unlike most bands out there. I'm not a fan of this specific mix of the song, but it's still Static-X. As many have said, Wisconsin Death Trip is a great album to dig into and I also really love their last album (Cult of Static) as it just gets really gritty and raw. RIP Wayne.

They made it independently, it was on their album Machine. You can tell the mix is different too, the whisper layer of the vocals are the forefront, not the melodic ones :)

Wayne Static was amazing. He "tongue in cheek" dubbed their music "Evil Disco". Wisconsin Death Trip was the best album to me. Just an absolute banger. I prefer the album version to the music video version, but both are good
