Proof you don't need to know the entire chord library or scales to make amazing music. I believe Wayne himself said he knew he wasn't a good guitarist but he could make cool sounding shit.
@gwarriorfromhell6 жыл бұрын
Wayne was more interested in creating simple, catchy riffs that would dig into the brain and burrow deep. I heard somewhere that he said that he wanted the sound of the band to have more emphasis on heavy beats and chunky riffs, with minimal flaunting in the songs in ways of solos and the like. The whole emphasis was simplicity with that electronic flair amplifying the music, birthing the Evil Disco sub-sub-genre that only Static has done. I'm glad that nobody has tried to copy the sound because it would almost be insulting to do so. Wayne created something beautiful in the world of Nu Metal, and it will stay with those guys forever.
@welshyyyyy6 жыл бұрын
Who doesn't love a good chunky riff. I do. I remember being dragged along by a mate to a gig a few years ago by one of the "best guitarists on the planet"... After the initial ten minutes of saying "wow this guy is amazing", it followed an hour of utter boredom while he twiddled his way up and down the fret board. I couldn't even go to the bar as it was closed 😊 Would prefer to listen to this all day long

Amazing performance (in my back yard no less). Been to the Knitting Factory in Spokane a ton! Here's a sad anecdote... Years back my wife and I were on a road trip - Static-X happened to be blasting. She mentions she would love to see them in concert. I've been a fan since day 1 (seen them live multiple times) and told her how amazing their shows were and that I was pretty sure they were still on hiatus. Mentioned that last I heard Wayne was doing some solo work and look up if he was touring anywhere close.... She goggled it and found out he had just died. Like literally in the last 24 hours. Creepy and surreal.
