Scott, get your butt to the doc! I have atrial flutter myself. It laid dormant until my ulcers got too bad because they were misdiagnosed. It's not normal to have a flutter. I was 50 when mine was discovered. Okay, mother hen signing off now. Hehe happy trails!

Be careful with decaffeinated coffee. The reason is for the following: In Europe, coffee is decaffeinated with steam but in the U.S. corporations decaffeinated coffee with chemicals that are toxic. This also includes decaffeinated tea. B12 is what you need to put back into your body because coffee removes B12 from your body.

Between stomach and sleep issues I spent a bunch of years fully decaf, and now I've started limiting my caffeine to before noon. After noon, I've recently started drinking Mushroom coffee for stomach health. It's not fully decaf, but it's much lower in caffeine than full strength coffee. So good for my stomach/digestive health and amazingly tastes really good! And I can drink it before bed and not have issues! It's kinda nice not having my stomach being a walking dumpster fire of discontent all the time!

I agree with you, same here, coffee is my one treat. I also have the heart flutter because of caffeine, so I now drink decaf. In Florida we have fewer local coffee roasters. I found a decaf I like on Amazon, Fresh Roasted coffee LLC. It's a Swiss eater decaf, light-medium roast. I use a little more beans per cup to enhance the flavor, not bad. Also, heavy cream is much better than half & half. 😊

I think there is more to coffee than just a beverage. Its also something of a ritual. Especially grinding by hand etc. Its a few mins out of the day to focus on making something thats a treat. Loosing the caffeine doesnt inpact that aspect. Also, I'm m wondering if light roast decaf might be too 'light' and that the medium was the right way to go. Glad you're enjoying it.

I have filter coffee first thing in the morning then for the rest of the day I have filter decaffeinated coffee. Caffeine will undermine your quality of sleep. You might think you are sleeping well but in fact the time spent in deep sleep is reduced with caffeine. So it is good to enjoy caffeinated coffee in the morning but not later than that. The removal of caffeine is a very simple process and so you can have extremely good quality decaffeinated coffee.
