Why is the water jug and the outside of the Statim being touched with contaminated utility gloves? When the Statim is opened with clean hands, then the sterile packages inside get touched with hands (or gloves) that have touched the surface previously touched with contaminated gloves, which contaminates the packages and the drawers they are placed in. The demonstrator was first touching all over the sterilizer with bare hands, then touching it with dirty gloves, then going back to touching it with bare hands, placing the contaminated cassette on a “clean” counter. I would not have dental work done in an office that is processing instruments this way. It is better to never touch the outside of any sterilizer with dirty gloves in the first place, this helps to eliminate cross-contamination!

PS to my previous post - this is fresh, unused, distilled water from the storage reservoir. Not discharged water in the exhaust container.

Hello - is there a reason to drain a 1 yr old Statim 5000 water reservoir on a regular basis? I am just now finding out that it has become office policy in my private practice to drain the water reservoir of all it's distilled water more than 1 time/week. I can not find any reference to this procedure in the product instruction manual. What is your recommendation?

Actually read the manual before trying to teach others. As a dental repair tech I would recommend removing this video.
