I'm an avid ttrpg player and content creator and my favorite stationery items for tabletop games are: - a Leuchtturm1917 notebook that I use for taking notes and recording character info for all the games I'm in. The " table of contents" section and two ribbon markers help me keep track of multiple games! - Frixion markers for making note of when a spell or ability has been used (good for systems like 13th Age where you have abilites that are used "once per arc" or "once per battle") without messing up what I've written about the ability. - Platinum Preppy fountain pens in fun colors because they're durable for travel and nice to write notes with. - clear plastic document sleeves, to allow character sheets to be dry or wet erase - wet erase markers for the above sleeves so I don't accidentally erase things between sessions
@ToniHinton5 күн бұрын
Which wet erase markers do you use? I've never found any that were very good, but I'm sure those exist.
@kennymahan93545 күн бұрын
I find I like the paper in my Blackwing notebook better than the Leuchtturn 1917 paper, but I love have a preprinted index in the front, and page numbers. I don't use them for my session notes, but they are full of my design notes.

@@ToniHinton I've always had fine luck with the normal expo brand ones. But the Staedtler ones are also great!
@hezvandermeij4 күн бұрын
@@ToniHinton like @thatnerdtori suggested, I personally stick with the Staedtler ones. I got it with my very first "CorrectBook" once upon a time and have been hooked on both that brand of notebook but even more on the marker since. It works exceptionally well on laminated sheets, so I printed my (edited to personal taste) character out, wrote down stats that won't change (Name, alignment, strong and weak points of personality), laminated it and then wrote down all stats that could change. I'm a clumsy dude and prone to wipe over my own writing without noticing, despite being right handed haha. So the fact that the Staedtler only erases with a bit more frction than just one hand wipe has been a LIVE SAFER for me.

Since I started playing D&D a few years ago, I have been using B5 Campus notebooks AND the Maruman Into-One B7+ notebooks. I've created my own character stats layouts, inventories, etc. It's been so fun marrying these two loves, gaming and stationery, together. When I sit down at the table, MOST of my gear are purchases from Jet Pens' awesome supplies. Love y'all! Love the game!

Honestly? My favorite stationary supply for TTRPGs is scotch tape. If I have a hard copy of my character sheet, I’ll put scotch tape in areas where I know I’ll be erasing a lot (like the box where my HP is) to protect the paper
@mechadebzilla4 күн бұрын
That... that's brilliant!
@Conspyre4 күн бұрын
If you get the shiny kind, it'll work with wet/dry erase markers too (just be careful about damp cloths around the parts that aren't tape!). I've been experimenting with the translucent Post-Its for larger areas- they work reasonably well, and you avoid seams between pieces of tape.

I don't play video games, but I will watch all the JetPens videos. What a great idea to show how you can use Japanese stationery for things other than planners and regular notetaking. I thought I was the only one who uses Japanese loose leaf pages to print on. I have a Kurufit B5 binder in which I have almost all the information I need at a glance - healthcare providers and insurance information, school calendars (secular and Sunday school), list of teachers' names and email addresses, contacts for home repairs, city services, etc., etc. (FWITW, I just set my Excel spreadsheet to the size B5, and then type in the information. Excel is great for lists.) Please do more of these types of videos. Great to see you again, Stephanie!

This is content we need for D&D. Interesting that Field Notes collaborated with D&D and other TTRPG players in mind. This is a great overview what products can be functional and useful for any game session. I play D&D with friends around my area, and one guy was looking at my stuff and saying Ooh I love how you organize your stuff. And ask where did you get it. Same that I use Kokuyo B5 binders for organizing notes, print outs for my character profiles and other maps. I use the Pilot Acroball and sometimes my Uni Alpha Gel as pens of choice for writing. Tombow Mono eraser. The Raymay bookstand is still on my wish list, and it is lightweight and very handy too. But I use a different book stand as it can hold heavier books like sometimes my kitchen collection. This is a fun video.

Yes, but as a long time TTRPG player/GM, I would never use erasable pens for taking notes. I personally like having something I can write quickly with and for someone who doesn't always play 5e, I've found that a dot/grid journal, like the Rhodia or Leuchtturm work well for those.
@laprimanerda73334 күн бұрын
Seconding this because I live in the US south with blazing hot summers. You have no idea how many folks have lost notes by leaving them in the car. I’ve heard that putting the notebook in the freezer brings them back but I’ve never tried it.
@GeeScottJay4 күн бұрын
We print off our character sheets in regular 8x11 then put them in a binder in a page protector, and use dry erase on the page protector. I think the whiteboard notebook covers would slip around. With the printed page inside a page protector, the paper doesn't move around inside the protector, so your marks are always in the same place.
