Cheryl's son.....If you see this...Please contact me.....your Mum loved you so much.....She was amazing, and so strong and tried so hard in her desire to break free.

I knew Cheryl back in the 1990s. She was a brave, bold, strong, caring and amazing person. We had many a deep and introspective conversation about the arc of life, ... the past and the future. Sadly she died never realizing her dreams. She was just not able to escape the ties that bound her there in Kings Cross, and so yes, she died there. A beautiful soul, a life unfulfilled, yet greatly loved and respected by many. Wayside Chapel held her service, and it was well attended. What a real loss. A beautiful, intelligent woman and kind and generous soul. She had so much more to give, share, contribute to the community and to enjoy. I hope her son comes to know his Mum as I did. As a brave, smart, loving and sensitive woman that tried so hard to rise above what life set before her. She did overcome much, and almost escaped this world of addiction several times. A brave woman with a big heart.......much to love and appreciate there in Cheryl. Much more than meets the eye. She will be missed.

This is so invasive on this poor woman who clearly was raised with a cloud over her every move,. Yet here's a reporter that's taking advantage of her emotions she's trying to keep hidden by drugs. It's disturbing and it's in appropriate that he's attacking her like a vulture. He could've helped her get to a better place and then discussed an interview when she had herself together. This is just sickening. These women need help not public de humanizing.

She was a sensitive soul born in the wrong place at the wrong time. A strong testimony why drug use is a mental health issue rather than a criminal one.r.i.p dear Cheryl 'there but for the grace of god go I' (or any one of us for that matter) ❤

Not excusing it, but that was the attitude back then - 'lighten up! / toughen up! / stop ya whingein! / come on, luv!' The Press are scum at the best of times...anything for a story.

Although I have empathy. It's not Kings Cross or prostitution that's the problem, it's drug addiction. & I have also had a very hard life (of which I don't really blame others). I just said a friendly hello to the girls I knew were in big trouble.

I never knew Cheryl personally,I lived and worked the mean streets of the 'Cross' throughout the early 90's,Wayside Chapel is/was a great service!I met alot of addicts/homeless/street workers etc and as an active addict back then i think my help made a difference to some and all it takes is an ear and a wee bit of time!RIP Cheryl much love!

Cheryl's words are strong and powerful, and ultimately a strong voice for younger women and girls. I'd like to share her message through my music and audience. She appears as such a warm and kind soul, yet so, unfortunately, badly treated by many in her life and situation. I am mesmerised by her strength here. I admire her guts. RIP.

As sad as it is that’s life when you’re hooked on heroin you do anything for a shot and her story is a carbon copy of so many local street kids and drug addict’s. I lived on the streets of the cross when I was 15 then when I got off the street I had a life there till I was about 27 and the street workers would pay for you to take down number plates and follow the car and generally keep an eye out for any trouble after a few young girls had been killed by mugs so after jasmine lodge was found strangled at bondi the rules became always hav at least a person taking down rego numbers. But because I had a car and motorcycle the girls would prefer me and a mate do the job. They were protected and we could support our habits. Win win for everyone.

I am not thinking about good and bad. The women are victims. Our society is in a bad condition. This is because a person has no value. It's all about money.

Rather then getting on her n talking like u would do anything for her/them when its ppl like u who cross to the other side of the street when seeing a homeless drug addicted person.

Kings Cross in Sydney is a disgrace and a shame on the Australian government. If you have so many women who have to turn to that kind of life there must be something fundamentally wrong with your system. Where there is a will there is a way!

@@davechristian7543I lived in the X from 89 - 97. She mentioned someone took her mobile phone. Mobiles for the average person didn’t really start until about 92/93. I met her through a female friend who was living a similar lifestyle. When Cheryl ? was in a good mood I would chat with her. She was often strung out and didn’t want to talk, just make $$ and I wasn’t a john. I remember her being one of the prettier working girls. I also used to score from the same places. As I remember she got on a high methadone dose then started using coke which messed her up heaps more than the gear. Heaps of the working girls did the same thing around this time. It was shocking to see how quickly they went downhill on the coke. There are many things I miss about the old Kings X, seeing people like her slowly self destruct in front of my eyes is not one of them. It was sad.
