Surround sound mixing is the coolest ones. In order to get access with Atmos, I must have the production suite and crossgrsde to Nuendo from Cubase Pro 10.5
@Beatniktv4 жыл бұрын
I really don't know much about that area and been trying to learn and find out! Not even mixed properly in surround sound as any jobs that have needed that I've worked on for film and TV I have taken to others to do! I really want to get into it more and was working on some virtual reality and hearing all about the developments in mixing for that and Atmos and it was making me very excited!! I can't wait to see how it goes for you, keep my updated!!

Is making 5.1 expensive process compare to stereo? If yes then how much expensive.. Means double cost or more or 1.5x. Please answer.. Thanks
@Beatniktv3 жыл бұрын
Well it's definitely not my area of expertise (as i usually work on them rather than construct them) but I would say just from logic that the main expenditure will be that you will need 6 speakers for surround sound rather than the 2 needed for stereo. So, in terms of the speakers you would end up spending at least triple the amount. I would also consider the fact that the 6th speaker is a sub woofer that might cost slightly more than a standard speaker. Also you will need to make sure whatever sends the signal to the speakers can handle 6 outputs and knows what information to send to each, which will no doubt cost more than its equivalent stereo version. So i would hazard a guess that it will likely cost you considerably more but as i said i haven't ever actually tried to do it myself so you should probably just ask a few companies for quotes and see what the difference really is. Thanks for the comment and I hope you enjoyed the video!

@@Beatniktv actually a am asking bcoz.. We are going to make low budget movie, and sound studio said that making 5.1 sound cost more $1000 than stereo. That's why i am asking about sound production cost.. I am not asking about sound and equipments i am just asking for sound production cost ( mixing, mastering ) stereo vs 5.1 Thanks 😊
@Beatniktv3 жыл бұрын
@@TanishkaFilms ah ok, that makes sense. I would say that it's just some extra panning so would be some extra time for the mixer to do the extra panning. Also hiring the 5.1 studio would probably cost a bit more. I would be surprised if it were double the cost of all the rest of the work that would be required though.

This is great and I learnt a lot from this. I'm a trainer for famous Korean Tech giant and we have had Dolby Atmos on our phones since 2018. Nice to hear this comprehensive breakdown 🙌🔥
@Beatniktv4 жыл бұрын
Oh wow I didn't know they had it in phones but I guess thats for the 3D and virtual reality? I tried to learn about the new developments in how mixing for virtual reality works but it's so infinitely complex that even trying to comprehend it hurt my head. The idea of everything changing as you move and having to adapt the reverb, echos, volume level and positioning just means so much computation! I am so excited when they nail it though as sound is what makes things seem real and once that happens VR and AR are going to fly!!
@alexbishop14574 жыл бұрын
@@Beatniktv thanks for the reply! It's for a more immersive experience when gaming or watching / listening to media. Gives it that nice 3d / cinema feel. Seeing more and more Dolby Atmos popping up now on other brands too. I leave it on all the time!
@Beatniktv4 жыл бұрын
@@alexbishop1457 so is that a faked software version as without the 7.2 speaker layout atmos won't work I imagine? If its just headphones it will only be stereo sound and even with 5.1 speaker layout you would only get surround sound? I know Netflix has some Atmos ready films and I think Disney too but I only know of high end cinemas that have the speaker lay out to actually be able to utilise Atmos? Or am I missing something?
@alexbishop14574 жыл бұрын
@@Beatniktv not too sure about the technicals but it has definitely has the official dolby atmos logos and has done since 2018. At 1st headphones only but 2019 brought dual stereo speakers tuned by AKG. When you toggle DA on and off you can hear the difference. Clever bit of kit and the audio always sounds great!

pretty sure surround sound with up and down is on headsets too
@Beatniktv2 жыл бұрын
You are probably right as technology is just leaping forward in so many areas right now. I'm presuming it would have to be faked in some manner as there are only 2 speakers usually in headphones. I remember trying this with some music a while back and it was a good approximation but definitely not as good as physically locating the speakers in the correct places. Give it a couple of years and I am sure it will be perfect and ready for 3D worlds.
@dosomestuff19492 жыл бұрын
@@Beatniktv that’s true, but what about gaming headsets, normally u would hear where the opponent is, cuz u can hear if they are above or below u, Is it Mimicked in some way?
@Beatniktv2 жыл бұрын
@@dosomestuff1949 I'm not totally sure but would like to look into it. I think it is 'faked' but that's a terrible term to use 😂😂😂 I did some work on audio for virtual reality and the complexity of it hurt everyone's head as it's so complex trying to change all the minute differences in the effects as you turn let alone move around. The visual side is so much easier than the audio currently which is why virtual reality never really seems real as it's all just stereo sound still. The amount of computations needed were just phenomenal. I definitely need to learn more about this area but it's developing so quickly it's hard to keep up!!!
