I am 65 years old, and I can tell you this for sure. - If you attempt anything that is actually difficult, you will hit situations that are hard for you. In the real world, nobody climbs the big mountains without a few slip-and-falls. Falling is not a sign of weakness and it is not failure. It is just just part of the deal, an element of the challenge to overcome. You can do it!

Brandon, you are a true teacher! Your teaching beats any of the university lecturers I have had in 4 years - every single one of them. A big mistake universities make, they put lecturers to teach Stats and other subjects for which a lecture is just the wrong (and cheap) approach. These subjects need to be 'taught'. That is a big difference between teachers and lecturers. Teachers approach a subject with learners in mind and make learning a shared journey. Lecturers lecture - they don't care whether you are learning anything at all as their job is to just talk away - a very easy job. Your work is amazing! Thank you so much!

You are on a lane of your own! I don't normally comment on videos but this would be very unfair to you. I will also donate right away. I have no words to explain the gratitude I feel so I would only say a plain "thank you so much"!

Thank you Brandon. You are truly a life changer. We have some weird cultural attitudes towards math, like it’s the boogeyman. I imagine most of that stems from horrendous math education in schools. A lot of people don’t realize that are « naturally good » at math are people who have spent countless hours learning how to understand and use it. Almost everyone who can read this right now has the ability to be good at math with time, effort and most importantly, good instruction. Thank you for making math accessible and enjoyable. Thank you for your commitment to our overall wellbeing and mental health.

Just wanted to say thank you! I'm learning stats for a data analytics degree and I was having a lot of trouble understanding the MEANING behind the formulas, until now. Now it's really starting to make sense and come together, and I'm actually understanding the statistics instead of just plugging in formulas and entering values. You have an excellent way of connecting the math to what it actually means in terms that anyone can understand.

Thank you for it. Your explanation was beautiful! The visual aspect was incredibly helpful. Since I watched the video at 1.75 speed, you taught me in a little over 10 minutes what a teacher failed to teach to my class in the better (I think it was literally the worse) part of a 1 hour and 20 minutes class! Hi Brandon! I am not usually one to leave comments on KZbin videos that I watch; however, I must express my sincere gratitude. I'm an online college student. I have had some ups and downs with learning the basics of statistics, but my desire to comprehend drove me on. I sort of felt like I hit a wall when it came to linear regression and my textbook hasn't been of much help. For statistics, I need teaching videos that are EXACTLY like what you've created here. Yesterday, I felt led to try finding an easy to understand video concerning linear regression. No matter what the subject matter is, I need to be able to grasp the most basic of concepts before more is built on top of that. I am so glad that I typed "statistics linear regression easy explanation" and clicked on your channel first. I really appreciated your introduction. Everything you said in it resonated with me. The crazy thing is that I'm thinking of watching some of your other videos on math and statistics, even though I typically don't have the desire to engage with it if I don't have to. I am reminded once again that the best teachers are those who can break down a concept skillfully so even a person with zero prior knowledge can understand. I'm thinking of watching more of your videos, not just because they are required for a class etc, but because it may be interesting and even FUN to learn with your videos! This is the first video of yours that I've watched, but here are some of my favorite things that I'm seeing thus far: * Slower explanations: This is HUGE. I love when teachers take the time to explain the bits and pieces. * Visual charts and tools: I feel like this is how humans are designed to learn. * Implementing a real world example: Just by using a simple real world situation that most of us can understand (tipping), it felt easier to track with you because whenever certain terminology like variables and formulas/equations appear, I find myself wanting to connect abstract concepts to something that I am already familar with. * Quick Review: I think that every teacher should include this. Please continue to include these. I can't remember the last time I left a KZbin comment this long. Blessing you and your channel! I hope that other students find it =)

I wanted to chime in as someone often using statistics in my field, sometimes outside my comfort zone. I took a stats class in undergrad but my knowledge has grown stale since then. First, I tried scheduling time every day with a textbook, but it takes a lot of mental stamina to study math before or after work. Your videos have been a great way to ease my way back into the subject. They are the perfect primer before I actually committ to another stats textbook or university course. Thank you!

This was the best 'intro mathematics' videos I've ever watched. Especially in mathematics, there is a culture for everyone seeming to understand exactly what was explained to them first round, i.e. "it was all explained in the lecture, what do you not understand?". This video was everything I wanted and needed. Thanks.

Your explanation is just perfect. Some statistics teachers at University just did not know how to teach statistics properly.

Brandon Foltz, we are a bunch of students studying statistics and machine learning. I must say you are quite popular on this side of the world (India). Thank you so much for helping us understand the subject so well.

Wow, thanks so much! This video really helped me understand SLR because you broke it down so well with visuals, you spoke slowly, and you presented the material in a way that was extremely easy for anyone to understand. Now I'm not so worried for my Statistics final on Sunday. Thanks again!!

Math is hard enough you have a great way of making people understand it, I love how you talk in simple terms so we can really grasp the concept! Keep on the great work. Students are really lucky to have you for a teacher.

It's really great of you to take time for preparing these videos and uploading it for free. I suppose thousands of students like me would definitely pick up on the subject after watching all of your videos. It takes great level of humanity to do this kind of work. Thank you :)

I've been stuck on learning AI for a while now. This is a technique used a lot when teaching an AI to calculate predictions! You've helped me out so much from these 23 minutes! You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!

This is amazing. It lifted an almost impenetrable haze where SSE in ANOVA is concerned. And deepened my understanding of variance in general. Thank you.
