Cucu has played and even excelled in that role earlier in his career, Cucu fits the system FAR better than Chilly does. A lot of that team is spot on imo, Chilwell I don’t think gets a sniff though, either Cucurella in there or another LB/LCB hybrid signing for that area, and I also think RCB Fofana (if fit) Chalobah (if kept) are way more likely and if not a signing is required, Disasi occupying those channel runners on the break is exactly how we would get caught out (Leicester did with Faes and Vestergaard at times last season due to that channel recovery)

I agree with alot of your points but theres no way in hell Chilwell gets a place in Maresca's system. His technical quality is very poor, in tight spaces especially, and he lacks the composure to play precise passes out from the back, not even to mention his injury record which means he can't be trusted for large stretches of the season. Colwill moving to LB and tucking in looks likely, as does Cucurella getting a run in the team. Chilwell I'd expect to be sold/phased out and another LB/CB hybrid to be bought

Ya know Trevoh Chalobah exists? And he has been fit for the last few months. In fact, Chelsea were unbeaten in every match Chalobah started this season. He's perfect for a possession side. Good passing range, can carry the ball really well for a CB and can flex positions well. Hes a very versatile CB and many Chelsea fans consider him to be better technically than Disasi. They also quite rightly feel Badiashile has been a total liability when hes played this past season.

No chance for Chilwell. Isn’t technically secure enough. Cucurella can play LCB and can invert if needed. Chelsea should sell Chilwell and sell a similarly versatile upgrade on Cucurella. Colwill/Benoit/Disasi as the CCB options. NEW LB/Colwill/Cucurella/Benoit at the LCB. Fofana/Chalobah/Disasi as the RCB options.

The way I see it, the ideal team would have Hernandez and Caicedo in midfield, and Reece on the overlap wide. Nkunku and Palmer play as the two tens with Mudryk as the left-wide player.

Championship sides adapted to him in half a season, now imagine prem teams with already one season's worth of data. I worry that he isn't just dogmatic but mediocre. @@monoapoel234 why does it have to be new? He plays the way that football is heading, possession based, strict positional football. Last seasons counter attacking, hit and hope, reckless football is not sustainable and so many wins, Chelsea looked terrible and got extremely lucky under Poch, their was no tactics, no nuance or developing of players traits and intelligence with the ball. If you watched Leicester's games which they struggled, that had very little to do with Enzo not setting up his team properly. Every game they dominated, and their players went on a bad run of confidence, most games had an xG of 4.0+ goals, missing 3-4 clear cut chances every game. Enzo's system relies on technically sound personnel, which Chelsea have in abundance, outside of Palmer, there is nobody who is just gifted to have free reign and roam wherever he wants. Enzo will develop these youngsters to understand how to play, how to move in any circumstance.

As a Chelsea fan i must say that we can't rely and should not put pressure on Jackson and actually buy a CF that's ready. Jackson could come off the bench with much less pressure and work on his finishing. We need a better goalkeeper,a centre back definitely and we have to address our left wing because Mudryk was forced into this level just like Salah or Vini Jr and the rawness is evident and Sterling had far too many chances to prove he still has it so he needs to go.

Chelsea are much more suited to inverting the LB side than the rb. Cucurella has even shown at the end of last season that hes more than capable of playing that and definitely better than Chilwell at that. I feel at times we get too stuck on the inverting rb or lb when the real principle Maresca wants his a box midfield. Also disasi won't start over Fofana actually if Chalobah isn't sold he will be ahead of Disasi for that role too.

Valles would be the best option for Chelsea in GK, cheap, last year of contract, great shot stopper and one of the best ball playing GK's in Europe. At LB, it has to be either Colwill if James inverts or Cucurella if Maresca inverts from the left. But either way, Chilwell has absolutely no place in this system, he's horrible on the ball and not intelligent enough, so can't invert and not defensive enough to stay back into the back 3 in possession, if they get countered. I like the idea of Enzo starting from deep as the playmaker, like Winks, getting 140+ touches per game will suit him best but I worry about him as a 6, he struggles defensively, physically and his lack of athleticism hinders him on the transition. I really think you need Lavia in there, someone who is a bit more positionally disciplined, good on the ball, calm under the press and more defensively minded as first instinct.

I'm very unsure about Enzo Fernandez playing as that holding midfielder.. might suit Caicedo more imo, just judging from his time at Brighton. I think with a 6 behind him and an inverted fullback holding the midfield, I think Enzo could play well higher up the pitch with a creative player like palmer next to him. I wouldn't rely on him for output, but I think he can hold the ball high up the pitch and allow the rest of the top 5 to cause chaos. However, the one position I think chelsea should consider is a solid centre back with a bit of experience, how can play off the back but can also protect the box as a last man centre. Also someone who can be a leader to the rest of the backline (Something chelsea might miss from Thiago Silva). Second priority would be considering getting a sweeper keeper, and lastly getting centre forward. I would make centre forward my last priority Palmer and Nkunku could both play as false 9's, I system that has proven to be deadly for all the top teams for the last 5 years +, and I believe Nicholas Jackson deserves a chance for a fall year. My point is, if Chelsea wants to spend 100m on a single player, I'd say let it be an all rounded world-class and fairly experienced CB. Then the other positions should be slowly assessed and improved according to how Enzo wants to play. And, I hope Chelsea fans and the board can be patient with Maresca, it could take time for some of the players to adapt to his system, plus his also will be getting experience himself. In addition to that, most the players are young and will only get better with time with a stable, CONSISTANT coaching system.

What Maresca should do is keep his tactics the same but just flip with the LB going into midfield instead of the RB. Then run Caicedo as the LB so he can tuck into midfield like he did with De Zebri. Then the back 3 would be Colwill, Fofana, and Reece. In midfield run Enzo at DM with Gallagher and Nkunku in front giving us a box to box midfielder and a playmaking/scoring midfielder. Nkunku has always been more of a CAM than out and out ST. RW easy, always Palmer. LW and ST is where you get creative and use the players who has the best skill set to work in this system. LW Hutchinson all day, his ability to play make, dribble, and pop up with a goal are incredible. Then ST you play Mudryk and finally get the best out of him, if you watched him this season he’s great at finishing inside the box, his pace will frighten any back line, and his first touch will come in greatly when linking up play. Reece Fofana Cowill Caicedo Enzo Gallagher Nkunku Palmer Mudryk Hutchinson Best lineup with our current squad unless we somehow keep Maatsen which would be amazing

Honestly, crazy when I see all these "tacticians" online give their opinions based on how Leicester were set up by Enzo last season and they have absolutely not clue, like they didnt even watch more than 1 or 2 games. Even the wingers, they mostly just start hugging the touchline, but very often come inside to overload the midfield, sometimes Fatawu and Mavidi took on their man 1 on 1 but not often. When Daka started, he often dropped deep to help with build up, it was more when Vardy came in, he did it less frequently due to age and lack of athleticism.

For me Cucurella on the left playing inverted works and seems daft to change and it will take a portion of the season to adapt. I think he stays with a 4231 as Poch was doing and having Galladog and Caicedo in the midfield which has been working well with Caicedo putting in some brilliant performances towards the end of season, why throw it all away. And with this 4231 it changes into a 325 going forward. With Cucu pushing into midfield and Galladog pushing further on with Palmer in there. Madueke was playing well as right winger and even Mudryk was looking better on the left. The problem for me is the ST, Jackson is looking better but someone who knows where the goal is would be better. Jackson also looks OK on the left. Perhaps Nkunku could be our secret weapon like if we are playing a striker and we are struggling then Nkunku could come on and play the false 9 role and then we win 8-0, hahahaha. The squad needs sorting out ASAP and then build from there and the players that were playing well in that Poch's system we need to keep but obviously with Boehly we know it won't.

That left back Colwill and Cucurela would fit. But the problem with Cucurela is Arial Duels and height... Malo gusto is not good at Inverting, he's good at overlaps... Reece James has Expirience and also played as a CM in he's academy days.... This system is going to be a problem at Chelsea because our Central Midfielders are not goal threats. Enzo lacks accuracy and is way too deep to be a threat or Add numbers upfront... Just like Caicedo who make mistakes when we are playing against a High pressing team he's the weakest link with Badiashile..... Nkuku and chukwumeka if they can be fit, this system is built for players like them.... i Just wish Madueke can be given game time and let him take-on Defenders and play those cut-back passes...

Cucurella shout is so brian dead - have you watched us towards the end of the season? Poch literally got the best out him by playing him as an inverted full back. Chilwell is not that type of player either. The Enzo take is not great either - Poch got some decent games from him. I'd argue the issue was playing 3 midfielders (Caicedo, Enzo, and Gallagher) as we always looked better with just two including games with Enzo and Gallagher early in the season before Caicedo joined. More importantly Enzo has played through a hernia in his groin all season and only got a surgery recently. Don't think it was him not fitting Poch's style or atleast it's not clear that Poch's style was the issue w/ Enzo

Chelsea have got far too many Players filling one position. For a Start, are they building a Team of Goalkeepers to play outfield?! "9" CD's...9? 6 Defensive Midfield Players. 12...I mean 12?! Attacking Midfield Players. 7 out and out Strikers and lets face it, not one ready, or good enough to lead that Chelsea Line.
