Hello! I am a junior in high school. I just want to tell you guys how much I appreciate this video! I have been very stressed lately watching these high school stat videos and seeing so many hardworking students get into their dream school. I am also interested in the STEM field and I decided that this year I would not APUSH because it wasn't one of my interest. This may sound weird but it has been my biggest regret and I can't sleep at night wishing that I would have taken the class as so many other peers have. I felt that I would not be getting into college simply because I refused to take APUSH. I just want to let you know that this video made my day and I was so worried about how I looked compared to other students that I completely forgot why I decided to not take it. Your video made me feel so much better seeing how you guys got into such good schools even without taking APUSH. I think I worry too much haha. But thank you so much for posting this :) It has really helped

I know that a lot of hackathons offer travel reimbursement, so if there aren't hackathons in your area, maybe look into some bigger high school hackathons that you could fly to? I'd also recommend looking at online hackathons, which you can participate in from anywhere in the world! As for what you need to know for hackathons, pretty much all are beginner-friendly, meaning you don't need to have any coding experience before hand :) I think I'll make a video about a guide to high school hackathons, so stay tuned :) Also, it's kind of a long story about the summer internship, so I'll address that question in my Q&A video.

I actually took quite a few online coding classes, as well as at my school, but a few decent websites are codeacademy, sololearn, and edX. W3 has pretty good material too, but it really depends on what language you want to learn. I'm also into cybersecurity, so you really have to look around for material for "hacking" and stuff. CTFs are a really great way to dive into that part of the field.
