Hi my name is TJ Phelan, and I just want to say that Brother Johnny has a beautiful singing voice when he sang this song. I wish I could have him come down to Bethel Baptist Church in Kountze TX and sing that song with me at my next special. When I first heard that song tonight I literally cried.

I would have no way of knowing that. I haven't seen him in person since 2008.

Thank you so much for sharing this song. You played it beautifully and you sang it with all your heart. I first heard this song with my brother a Marine stationed in Camp Pendleton in California. I had gone NYC to CA to see him. It seemed like this song bridge a gap for us and it spiritually held us together. When I got back home I opened my suitcase and to my surprise he had slipped this vinyl album in there, it was by Sixteen Singing Men featuring this song. I cried my eyes out because I knew that it was his favorite record and giving it to me was a sacrifice for him. Through the years I never forgot this song but I had lost the record in one of my many moves. By the grace of God I found your video and I was able to share it with my beloved brother who is alive and well. Since then I have shared it with many others as I find it is a beautiful portrayal of freedom in this country and freedom in Christ Jesus. God bless you, I hope you are still playing piano and still pleasing God with your beautiful voice!

Debra Barbery I, the one who posts these videos, is not the one singing here, but I'm glad it's a blessing to you! :)

I see when this was sung - the day before the 5-year anniversary of 9/11.
