"Winter Wonderland" is a song written in 1934 by Felix Bernard and lyricist Richard Bernhard Smith. Due to its seasonal theme, it is often regarded as a Christmas song in the Northern Hemisphere. Since its original recording by Richard Himber, it has been covered by over 200 different artists.
The song's lyrics were about a couple's romance during the winter season. A later version of "Winter Wonderland" (which was printed in 1947) included a "new children's lyric" that transformed it "from a romantic winter interlude to a seasonal song about playing in the snow." The snowman mentioned in the song's bridge was changed from a minister to a circus clown, and the promises the couple made in the final verse were replaced with lyrics about frolicking. Singers like Johnny Mathis connected both versions of the song, giving "Winter Wonderland" an additional verse and an additional chorus.
"Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" is a Christmas song written by J. Fred Coots and Haven Gillespie. The earliest known recorded version of the song was by banjoist Harry Reser and his band on October 24, 1934. It was then sung on Eddie Cantor's radio show in November 1934. This version became an instant hit with orders for 500,000 copies of sheet music and more than 30,000 records sold within 24 hours. The version for Bluebird Records by George Hall and His Orchestra (vocal by Sonny Schuyler) was very popular in 1934 and reached the various charts of the day. The song has been recorded by over 200 artists, including Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters, The Crystals, Mariah Carey, Neil Diamond, Bruce Springsteen, Frank Sinatra, Bill Evans, Chris Isaak, The Temptations, The Carpenters, Michael Bublé, Luis Miguel, and The Jackson 5.

This is a mobile phone recording of three completely different bands/acts _covering_ songs none of them have done before, after practicing together for half an hour. It's impromptu, almost ad-libbed. Three guitars and three-part harmonies between three different bands require a lot more work than that. This is the most unrepresentative sample you could pick for any of these artists. If you want to pick apart their Christmas medley, at least do it with a professionally recorded version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/joi0fqOna5KfnLM (no, it's not overdubbed; this was from one of those live CD companies where you can pick one up as you leave the venue). Though I still say using quasi-improvised Christmas covers to judge a band is retarded. They're so out of practice, having never done any of these songs live before, that they forget a bunch of lyrics to their own song at the end (but they were already in their 60s, I think, so a few memory lapses can be forgiven).
