I'm on my 4th year of learning guitar. 2 years in I checked out this lesson because I like the song but I kinda gave up thinking it was too complicated for me but now I can handle it and the explanations completely make sense. I guess I wasn't ready back then lol (the up and down strokes and the speed were completely overwhelming, fretting hand couldn't keep up). What a great tune to rock out to. Thanks! Oh, and I'm probably your dad's age lol.

Thanks for showing this with the open tuning and the capo. Much easier on the hands and wrists than all the barres, which is how I learned it back in the day before I realised that there was an easier way!

I used to work with a guy, who like myself loved going to gigs. He always maintained to this day, Status Quo was THE best live band he'd ever seen. I sadly never got to see them. I never took much notice of them until I watched an episode of TOTP2 and some band was playing a song called Pictures of Matchstick men. I was blown away by it. Even more so when I realised what band was playing it.

never too late to go see Quo, their gigs are still just as great!

Hi Andy. Love this. I've watched many KZbin videos on down down but you make it easy to follow. Could you do more quo as I really find your videos easy to follow but really struggle with quo. Any body who thinks it's easy 3 chords needs to re-think!

Definative version of guitar part in my opinion. Been after this for years. No guitar is ever in tune.Sounds ok to me. Hitting the strings will make it sharp for a millisecond any deflection of string being fretted same thing.See Buzz Feiten Tuning System. Critics need to read about equal tempered, just intonation etc. Read How Equal Temperament Ruined Harmony (and Why You Should Care) .
