I have to admit I may have been this type of friend throughout my life. Especially since I grew up with a mother who had this type of mentality. But as I’ve grown and seen other people who let this rule their life I’ve realized that it’s not healthy. Not for growth, your relationships and your even physical health. It’s like constantly being in crisis mode because everyone is the enemy.

People like this are so exhausting. As I get older, I am more firm on my boundaries with people who play victim and can't take accountability. I lived with someone like this for two years and when she didn't like herself she projected so often. I was already going through a lot on my own, so it was a nightmare. Not surprised things played out the way they did because she was always like that. Crazy thing is she was a whole therapist lol. I'm so happy now to be free!
@Val-8CH16 күн бұрын
Exhausting, yes! That is the perfect word to describe a person like that. I had a friend with similar tendencies that I fell out with years ago. Whenever I have to sum up the dissolution of that relationship quickly, the word exhausting is always one of my go to words. She really did just tire me out the point where I didn't have anything left to give. People like this suck all the energy out of you constantly and you can only sustain that for so long.

I had a friend just like this. She’s famous on instagram and Twitter in the spiritual/self-empowerment space. She would constantly start beefing with women who she once called her sisters and sang their praises. She often accused people one of copying her and stealing her “energetic imprint” Eventually it was my turn, I didn’t copy anything she was doing but she torpedoed our relationship in a very hurtful, mean and petty way. Be careful when you have a friend who has conflict with everyone else, she will eventually turn on you too.

I had a recent sorority friend breakup with someone very similar to victim girl. She fell out with at least 4 people including me, in a one year span. And the disagreements were never that serious either, she just gets a kick out of claiming to be this supportive, selfless person that everyone “betrays” eventually, when in reality she’s a very selfish, manipulative, brat that never heard the word no while growing up. Ppl like Victim Girl are the top 5 worst types of friends to have and don’t ever think you won’t be next if you witness their fall outs with others. It’s just not your turn yet. Thanks for sharing, Jessie. When you have to remove ppl from your circle that usually means a big blessing is headed your way and everyone can’t come along, that’s all. Not every friend’s season is permanent. ❤

I had a friend I grew up with that became the victim. At first it was legit. She tried to help her family and they used her and sucked her dry but continuously. This went on for over a decade. When the pandemic came around I was so emotionally spent from all the fear, chaos, social isolation, and lockdowns that I did not have the emotional bandwidth to listen to her story that had been on repeat for more than a decade. I felt guilty but I had to let her go. She would only call me to talk about how her family was using her and can you believe she said this or did that. After a decade its a choice!

I stay away from professional victims. Those who are adults, it's engrained in their personality and they never hold themselves accountable. I'd rather keep my distance, stay happy and not let them ruin my mood. When you were raised by someone like that you see that there's nothing you can do for them, they always revert to it even if you tell them about it. And I do believe it's narcissism. I saw how one girl tried to turn everyone against me telling them god knows what about me to the point where some colleagues ganged up on me while being led by her. I stayed away from her and when she came at me tryna set me up to trash talk people or fight her battles, I stayed positive and kept my peace. She just couldn't let me be in peace, I had to be a flying monkey or an enemy, it's as if I broke her programming. These types of people are dangerous and can ruin someone's professional life as you said, get you blacklisted or even fired from baseless gossip.

I had a friend who was always terrible to me. We’d been friends since 4th grade and even back then if I went on the swings at recess with someone other than her she’d try to turn my other friends against me and have them help her make letters for my Friday folder saying “Don’t be traitors to your friends”. And she’d always tell me that her memory of me is of me in glasses and braces which was like one year of my life and she chooses to remember me and tried to always embarrass me by stating to everyone about me being ugly. It just screams jealous and toxic because she was always so insecure. We had a falling out in High School and we should have just left it there, but I didn’t want bad vibes going into college and I thought I’d barely see her again. But we stayed close enough and I was a co-maid of honor in her wedding and when it came time for my wedding I had her as a bridesmaid. She lived very far away so I didn’t want to put the pressure of maid of honor on her. Also after seeing how little she seemed to put into her own wedding I didn’t trust her to be able to support me the way I’d need for my wedding. Fast forward to my bachelorette party and she was being nasty the whole time, talking shit to the other bridesmaids about my maid of honor and at the end of the night she screamed in my face to never invite her to any event ever again. At first I felt bad and tried to get her to stay and she continued with the nastiness of like “I’ll show up to your wedding and do what I have to do but nothing more nothing less” like as if I need that toxicity at my wedding. So I kicked her out of my wedding and never looked back. Her mother even messaged me some ugly, ugly shit. All I know is I’m so happy to have her out of my life. She was always toxic and the good times did not outweigh the bad. I’m so much better off without her, but it’s not easy to let go of a life long friend. But I do believe she was always a hater and trying to bring me down. I’m a better person without her in my life. And you’re right, I think a therapist would be good to work through all of it. Thanks Jessie! You always give the best advice and tell the best stories! ❤️

Didn’t finish watching yet but with Jealousy there are different forms that manifest in different ways. With the whole Tamar thing she might not have wanted to be you but you are very talented , funny and beautiful and it could have been as simple as being threatened at your potential, seeing how people react to your authenticity and something like that can trickle into comparison and bitterness for someone who is on their way out which snowballs into jealousy. Again I’m not saying that what it was but I’m just saying someone doesn’t have to want to be you to exhibit signs of jealousy which almost always starts with comparison , shady comments , backhanded compliments, mild to extreme sabotage etc… anyways love your videooos ☺️

Yes the victim friend, especially when they're quick to run to the internet to make it about everyone else is such a draining person to be around.

I’m only 6 minutes in but the sound is sooo much better. I’m a bit sensitive on the ears so sometimes I have to skip the vids when I don’t want to 😭 TY!

At 28:00 tell me you can’t hear that that mic has been acting up since day one. If you aren’t breathing in the direction of the mic it will not pic up your voice. It was doing it before the 28:00 mark as well. The old mic did not behave this way.

I feel you on probably not feeling like a “makeup girlie” but I’m Caribbean as well… similar skin issues… and your routine slick EATS. I’m a MUA and I’m very fascinated with your makeup routine I think you do great makeup and yes even tho I tune in for the shit talking I would love a full descriptive tutorial… I mean I know you gotta do what you gave to for views but sis you definitely can teach the girls a couple of things ❤❤❤❤🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
