One of the most beautiful love songs ever written and performed! It seems like 1971 was yesterday, how did we get to 2023 so fast!? We were young and innocent with our whole life ahead of us, where has the time gone!?😢 To all the wonderful memories and amazing days we thought would last forever!❤

I first heard this song when I was 6 or 7, in the mid 60’s. I used to scour the record aisles in the 80’s and 90’s for this song. To have it at my fingertips at 62 gives me a sense of nostalgia that I thought only people in the 40’s/50’s knew!

Coincidence. i’m also 62 and remember the song from when i was a kid. i didn’t know there was a cover of it but it was playing at McDonalds at 6 AM when I was getting coffee. It kinda stopped me in my tracks I remember seeing them sing it on TV. Here’s to childhood. Cheers.

Simply beautiful. This song indicates how sharing intimacy with our lover is with elegance and good taste. No dirty words and the voices of the singers are very sexy and great to hear. The lyrics through simple really hit the point. So it is a very good song to hear.

Although released 48 years ago this song is still great to hear as it makes me remember how being in love when one is young is. One quivers from emotion when sharing intimacy with one's lover as the song says. And that feeling of our spirit leaving partially our body and getting entangled with that of our lover is something worth to remember.

I met the most beautiful girl I ever saw as a senior in highschool she was in tenth grade. But I was married and not happy. Well I blew it and only saw her a few times over the past 50 years. I was playing our song, save it for me by the four seasons and I left a comment about her 6 weeks ago. I was in a deep depression and on my way to the end of life. Somehow she knew in her heart I needed help and placed an APB online and my little brother saw it and called me then a friend of mine sent her my phone number and she called me. I was so nervous but I went to see her and as I rounded a curve in her driveway I saw her and I was instantly in love all over again and we are together now and forever. It amazes me that she kept me in her heart all those years and still loves me like nothing else in the world and I love her like nothing I can explain.

One of those nice songs that actually mean something unlike most of the songs today which are only noise and screams. This one expresses real feelings and sensations all of us who have been in love when we were young remember very well. And the sexy voice of the singers suits the lyrics perfectly. Sad to realize how much we have retreated in popular music. Shame really.

+Janie Jurica Why? I wonder. This is a beautiful song. Powerful and meaningful lyrics, powerful rhythm and tune and the female singers voice is the cherry on top. The guy in the song did a great job too. This song brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it. Not many songs can do that to me. It takes true talent and skill to put together a song like this. I think that many music artists these days just don't have the talent and skill to make songs like this anymore. They may have the voice but they over look the other elements such as meaningful lyrics and the rhythm and tune. All these things are important when it comes to making a song good. I pay attention to these things when I listen to a song. I don't like songs where it's just screaming. It doesn't take talent or skill to scream. Anybody can scream. I also don't like songs where the singer over dramatizes and elongates the lyrics which most female singers do that a lot and I don't get why they do it. It makes me roll my eyes like come on, please. It feels like they're just trying to make the song longer and it's unnecessary. Sing the lyrics naturally and a lot of times there's little to no rhythm in their songs and the tune or beat is weak. This is the problem with music that's made these days. It lacks those elements. But this song Stay Awhile has all those elements in it combined and that's what makes it a great song and a classic. If all those singers out there today would adapt to this way of song making and stop with this elongating the lyrics then they could be hits just like this song was and others like it.

As I listen to this song so intently, it evokes a feeling of ambiguity that pulls me to opposite poles, tearing my heart and soul apart. It leaves you to wonder to go or stay...to be captured to freedom or to be freed unto the chains of having to love or be loved. The memory of being with you and being apart from youequates to that of a void within you, of which you want to get rid of yet you keep holding onto tightly. Oh Love, how you play with my soul yet grants amazing joy to my heart!

Someone below mentioned the female singer and her line that ends "awhile." That "awhile" has stayed with men and boys for over a half-century. The singer's name is Jackie Ralph; she was born in South Africa and lived in Montreal, and I think these facts help give her pronunciation of "awhile" a part of its magical quality.
