Enzo Maresca is set to sign a five-year deal with a one-year extension and according to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is looking to sign 5 players this summer.

I would love to see us sign Ortega from Man City. Only a year left on his contract and he's always struck me as a dependable GK. Too good to be playing as a backup.

With Conor likely on his way out, I would be potentially interested in keeping Santos in the squad for rotation. Lavia and Santos to back up Moises and Enzo sounds decent to me (especially with European football next season -- even it it is just the Conference League...) As far as signings go: Nico did enough to convince me that we don't need a big money signing at striker. If we're playing possession-based, our goals will come from cutbacks and the like, so between him and a healthy Nkunku, we're probably set. With that in mind, **if** we sign a striker, Sesko makes sense for the price tag. As far as keepers go... Unai Simon seems interesting but I'm not sure what his contract situation is like. And then the Lille keeper, Lucas Chevalier fits the board's "youth" profile (age 22). Both seem to be good with their feet, though admittedly, I'm not super familiar with either.

The fact you said gallagher and mois worked shows you know sweet FA. The reason cucu was inverted when enzo got injured was because Gallagher doesnt have the ability or discipline to play the double pivot. 🤦‍♂️

I don't think it's that Gallagher can't operate in a double pivot - he can and showed he can quite well in the very first game of the season gone against Liverpool. I just think it benefits Gallagher to get more forward to make use of his qualities in the attacking side and pressing. I think Maresca will play a 433 and will have Caicedo in the 6 and Gallagher in one of the 2 number 8 positions. The fact the full backs will invert will give Gallagher the license to get more forward and he can do his defensive duties off the ball like he has been doing. Also - no need to be a cunt. Your opinion is as valuable as anyone elses. You're no better.

@@TheSportsZection im not being aggressive and sorry if it came off like that. But my point stands. It was clear and obvious over the season how lacking gallagher is. And the fact theres guys like you as well as the press hyping him then we can get top dollar. Apart from that when i ask chelsea fans what is gallaghers best strength they say he runs around. 😂 not his passing ability or vision or ability to control the pace of a game or his goal scoring or assisting. Which he lacks in all those departments. They say he runs around. That says it all.
