You’re gonna be shocked by how many people Ange releases purely based on character of person. Ange dislikes players who complain, deviate from what the manager says at pressers, talks about themselves rather than as a collective whole, etc. How many players on this team have subtle hints of selfishness? They’ll be gone over the next two months and Ange will have enough press conference and interview footage of all of these players to watch and see what they’re like. He’ll leave no stone unturned to see what their personalities are like.

Thing about Udogie is that he often uses spaces inside the pitch and doesnt often actually like to stretch the pitch wide by hugging the wing. So actually would fit nicely with the inverted full back option that Ange likes to play.

One of my biggest issues with Conte during his time at Spurs was how he set up the defense. Played Emerson out of position for pretty much the entirety of his spell and while Davies thankfully played mostly LCB Conte would even deploy him as a wing back and I'd just sit back and laugh at the squad selection at times, especially considering who he had available and how stubborn he would get. Joe really nailed it with how Ange needs to address the defense.

So, the biggest issue of Conte was the way Conte plays? Makes no sense. He tried to make it work with the players at his disposal, good players can adapt. This group of players couldn't adapt to Conte's system. That was the biggest issue.

Pedro plays better as a RW midfielder. but an attacking one that can cause chaos deep in the opposing side. Kulu as a CAM instead of a CDM is perfect, he can thrive in that position and play like Dele Ali, Lucas Moura, etc. High pressing and constantly attacking.

Very much agree with your analysis! Would like at least 4 signings this summer, ideally: 1) David Raya 2) Laporte 3) Maddison 4) Harvey Barnes Personally, would get rid of almost all centre backs Spurs currently have (I.e. Dier, Sanchez, Rodon, Tanganga, Lenglet) and so would bring an additional defender, ideally someone young with potential around 20M alongside the experienced Left Footed Laporte from Man City who will be looking for some more game time if City sign Gvardiol when they already have Ake, Stones, Dias, Akanji etc. Amazing video & thanks for covering Spurs!

At Celtic Ange had his wingers hug the touch line and his fullbacks invert. with all the wing backs they could be up high intead of the wingers have the wingers go where the 8s would be and have the 8s cover the inverted areas in midfield. thoughts??

As a spurs fan. I agree with most of these. However the Kane and Hojbjerg takes i disagree with. I think even for the money we could get, Kane has to stay even for one more season till we can truly see results in this Postecoglou team. And Hojbjerg, if you lose Dier Lloris and Kane, becomes the only leader in the side. And he’s a great option.

I’d agree with keeping hojberg and understand wanting to keep Kane fore another year but the money you’d get for Kane could be invaluable in a few years. The way I think about it is will Kane get spurs enough goals for a top 4 or even top 6 finish, with the quality of the squad is say absolutely not. So you’ve got him in the team for no real reason only to compromise the money you’d have for selling him and being able to get a years head start on developing how the squad works without him.

I agree with pretty much all of this, although I would definitely want to see Bryan Gil go on loan to a Premier League side for consistent minutes and build up his physicality. In the case of Kane, I would sell him if it’s to Real Madrid both for the money and to keep him away from a rival, if it was the case of selling him to United I’d risk keeping him for the extra year and keep my fingers crossed.

Still better to get 100mil for him than let him go to a rival on a free next season anyway. Thing is though, it isn’t a foregone conclusion that Kane would leave at the end of the season, if Spurs had a decent season and United struggle, then he may not see it worth ditching his one club legacy to go to a club that’s not significantly more likely to win something. It’s also worth bearing in mind how critical Kane is to Spurs, if he fits Postecoglou’s system well he can again carry us further up the table, without him this season we likely would’ve ended up in lower mid table.

Good video; I particularly agree with the points about Tottenham building a squad for a few years down the line... that's the whole reasoning behind appointing Ange, imo. I think switching to a back 4 will be easier than you've made out, however. It's still by far the most popular defense formation and almost all players will have played that way in youth football. So I think the likes of Porro, Spence, Udogie, Romero etc will be fine, I'd only worry about converted wingers such as Perisic Also, with the problems at CB, I think it'd be worth keeping hold of Rodon

Spence is a right back rather than a wingback which is another reason why conte didn't play him, Udogie can play either left back or wingback & had play in CM previously so inverting might not be that problematic

Agree with selling Kane and revitalising Richarlison as the 9 is the way to go. As fantastic as Kane is I don't think he really fits the role in an Ange system and if he stays he will either be forced to play him or face the lynch mob for not. Richarlison plays that role for Brazil to great impact so I can him being one to hugely benefit from him coming in. With the money you get from Kane you can fill in some of those other holes in the squad as recruitment is something Ange does well.

Reports from both italy and england are claiming that ndombele wants to try and regain his place in the spurs squad. So I think that ndombele would be given a chance by ange particularly because I do not think levy will spend that much money to improve the team. If I'm Spurs (and Ange Postecoglou), I'm raiding Southampton for players: • Tino Livramento would start at RB over Porro, Spence & Emerson. • James Ward-Prowse would slot straight into that no. 10 role behind Richarlison (or whoever else they get as a striker). Which leads me to... • Anthony Martial would be a risky, but quality signing they could make (potentially on the cheap). He'd push Richarlison for a starting spot (provided he can stay fit) and potentially even start between Son (left) and Richarlison (right)

Selling Kane is all very well but there is no big offer for him yet, Real reportedly only want to pay 68 million for him which is not near enough for Levy as he wants over 100 million for him so unless they offer something near that he isnt going. This kind of sums up my own personal feelings about the squad with some minor alterations. I would keep Devine and Scarlett in the squad as I believe Ange could work with them. Not too sure about Parrot, I really liked what I saw of him 3 years back but he seems to have stalled since them more or less. Maybe Ange could have a go at him as well. I also had 2 cbs, 1-2 midfielders, a striker and some more competition for the wing-spots on my shopping-list. Plus ofc a gk. But I would not go for a Raya, I would turn to ManC and Ortega as I rate him highly since his days in the Bundesliga. Phenomenal shotstopper with silky feet and actually knows how to find a team-mate as well. I have to admit I was anti-Ange from the start but it was because I had no idea what he stood for. After some reading up I came to the conclusion that this is what we at Spurs have been longing for. We want attacking football, go for goals and exite us. The last few years have been grim af(pardon my french) and we need to get away from that as soon as physically possible. I personally would take a strugglesome season IF we see steady improvement and that Ange get backed in his plans for the team. On the issue of Kane I say sell IF it's abroad, if it's not then it has to be SILLY money. No feeding of those bastards(again, french) who wants him. If that still would happen I want Romero to take Kane out if he would play against us. And I would cheer as hell if that happened. If you're not with us you're against us. No one is bigger than the club. Period.

Wouldnt be first choice but would be a good stopgap and a rotation option. He always plays his heart out and has got better every season at celtic and knows how to play the system.

Taylor was excellent in that role, however his lack of pace and athleticism could be exposed at times in the SPL. So in the EPL it'd be a big problem.

He knows taylor can play that role and has the right mentality. Ange is willing to give players like taylor a chance and would be cheap so if it doesnt work out its not a big deal. I think Taylor would be fine in the EPL with a lower team. He would have to up his game to suit spurs, like he upped his game after joining celtic, and if it doesnt work out someone would take him for what he would cost (8-10m)

Totally agree on kane. Time for both parties to move on should have done so 2 years ago. The 100m would open up this transfer window from an FFP prospective more than anything for spurs to fill some of the holes youve mentioned.

I mean even with selling off 12 players you mention, can they afford to bring 10 new ones to start rebuild? I think you have to keep some of the players in sell portion just because it is nearly imposible to bring so many new players in and have club working properly. Chelsea and N. Forest should be big red flags for anyone trying to bring in 10+ players in a season.

Ryan Sessegnon needs to be the first out the door, no chance his injury concerns will survive the Ange style of play as it’s all about high tempo attacking play and pressing when you lose possession. His hamstrings are fucked. Would say you pretty much nailed it, we need to tie down Romain Mundle to a contract, maybe loan out Sarr, and defo need to sign a GK, LCB that’s a real leader of the back line, a CM like Maddison but that won’t be easy, RW to compete with Kulusevski, and a ST. Anything else is a bonus.

I think you put too much into CBs being a 'back 4 CB' or a 'Back 3 CB'. They can adapt, each and every one of Spurs CBs has played in a back 4 at some point. The theoretical move from a back 3 to 4 is much more about the fullbacks, and there are plenty of teams that use fullbacks in a back 4 system that attack way more than they defend, and are even hammered for being bad defenders. Trent for example.

I also think its a bit generous to assume Ben Davies and Emerson will fit in just because they are natural full backs, as they are no where near technical enough to play in a possession based team.

What's with the Hojbjerg love? One of the most run by CMS in the league. A big reason we get over run every match. Never tracks his runner into the box which results in us conceding a goal. Like Dier he isn't a leader at all. Points and shouts a lot and never takes responsibility for his mistakes. Bang average player who was carried by Bentancur, who is a far superior player.

They don't have to invert the fullbacks if it doesn't play to their strenghts They could easily play like Xavi's Barca, where say a Porro or a Udogie pushes up into a Winger Position like Balde and a Davies or a Emerson(maybe) on the other side stays back And then the second deep midfielder role that is filled in by an inverted fullback is just performed by the other defensive midfielder (Hojberg in the Busquets role, Bentancour in the De Jong role or the other way around)

The guy is ran into the ground and definitely outlines his struggles at times. Guy plays basically every game, goes to WC and we lose Benta and Biss and he's played basically every minute again. The guy is gassed and we know what he's capable of, but we need rotstion for him. Then you say Skipp tidy on the ball 🤣 His touch was diabolical for the last 2 months of the season and was always caught on the ball at least 5 or 6 times a match. Like the attempt to play front office, personally I would have started with the homegrown rule and tried to identify the eight in the 25. Looked at through that lens. Sess isn't going anywhere, neither is Skip - it highlights why Kane is more than just a money/contract issue - it makes the loans suggested very tricky. Some executive somewhere will be shaking their fist at the sky and screaming "Jack Clarke" also it explains why there is a project Maddison. Agreed with everything except one thing. I dont think bissouma bentancur and skipp is enough. If we cant find another number 8 thats better than skipp we should keep hojberg. Only cm i trust is bentancur for this playstyle, im sure bissouma would do well from the small amount of games ive seen him but small sample size... Ive watched skipp closely, he just doesnt have it. Often times the flow and speed of the play stops with him, he loses the ball more than anyone on the team. I can see potential tho so maybe loan him out. So for me i think we need 1 CM, 1 CAM (maddison?), 1 or 2 CB. Maybe 1 striker more striker if we sell kane and can afford.

As a celtic supporter, i can say that ange will play his system his way. Any player thinking of being elsewhere will be gone. He will sign players to fit his system. He will give all players a chance, even in an unfamiliar role. Your team will play as a team. He likes an underdog so maybe maguire from mufc might end up at spurs,if affordable. As much as i dont rate maguire, i reckon big ange would get him up to standard. Give him a chance to make you love football again.

Loan out Spence, so have more defensive and and attacking fullbacks on both sides. Keep Tanganga and Rodon as backups and as can't replace all the center backs except Romero in one season. Think can rehabilitate Lo Celso under Ange as he would get to play as he wants finally. Keep Bryan Gil as a right wing backup to Kulesevski as Ange can develop him. Also keep Parrot as third striker and to be developed by Ange. For the rest agree with you, good job. Would need a starting Goalkeeper (Raya), Left Center Back (Torres/Bastoni/Laporte/Kimpepe), 8/10 (Madisson). If can't extend Kane then indeed sell and replace maybe a talent if think can start Richarlison. Would also permanently sign Danjuma as Son backup who can also play striker or right wing.
