GEE, maybe if PREVENTION was a priority with funds, instead of cuts and smelt fish... building reservoirs or cisterns to capture water run off when it does rain, instead of the water going into the pacific ocean, itnwouldnt have been so devastating. EXACTLY!! I have been saying that since the 2017 fire. They say it's too expensive to build it out. We'll, fire after fire, year after year... BILLIONS are spent as it is and it's not getting any cheaper. If office buildings mandate fire sprinklers when fire is detected, why are there not sprinklers for homes on roofs? Many homes have pools. In an emergency, that should be automated. Soak the property... it helps. Can't stop the wind of mother nature, but you can deter flying embers from catching onto dry roofs and properties. Southern Cali does not get rain often, bit when it does, it pours and all that run off goes jnto the ocean. Why not route it to reservoirs or build reservoirs or cisterns to capture that water so it can be used for emergencies. MY God, California is mismanaged. The mayor should resign, so should the governor.
