I would think those beads would be a big inspiration. I'm 67 years old and grew up loving Janis. There is only one Janis. Several years ago I went to Seattle to the EMP, it's not called that now, but then it was The Experience Music Project. Filled with things from all of you very talented artists. Well, I was walking along and then there it was, the display of Janis Joplin's things. And there was one of her boa's. It was the first time I ever lost it. I stood there and cried like a baby. The thought that this powerful woman, with her magic voice was gone and here was something that use to be around those vocal cords, I just lost it. It still makes me emotional. If anyone should have something of Janis's it should be you. The first time I heard you sing, took me to Janis and it still does. You have that same thing Janis had. The fire and passion that makes the songs grip you and never lets you go. You too are a magic woman with a magic voice. Thank you for sharing her beads and your stories. I think Janis was there with you that night, wrapped around you, when you sang Piece Of My Heart. Not only are you a force in music, but one of the strongest women I know. Such an inspiration to all of us.

Young’un, you said the magic word about Janis - Presentation. You had an adrenaline rush when you stepped foot on that Grammy stage. You grabbed the mike, gave the audience a sly twinkle and grin, a power stance, and Presentation. They could not notice your tiredness, for all they saw was magic. All they heard was magic. All they knew was that magic had hit them all right between the eyes. And your desire and presentation did that. Well done, well done. You MADE the magic happen. Not many of us can do that. How Kool is that ,,, beads and a scarf, from the great Janis herself. I have been a huge fan since I can remember. Born in the great year of 1960 , I grew up in the heart and soul of the 60's. Tears running down my cheeks I just have to say thank you thank you thank! I'm sure it's not easy to rock so hard and so well in a room by yourself like it's on a stage four hundred thousand people but we're here and we're listening in this will be able to play on for years to come I have a ton of health issues so quarantine like this is my normal life really no difference. I love that song had a 8 track played it all the time with windows down in my 1971 Malibu SS. I'm like you lived in a small town Los Banos Ca. everyone knew each other had to be careful who you had a crush on cause it could be a relative. Thank you Melissa. I just watched this and it gave me goosebumps. I just turned 50 March 15 in this year of coronavirus. I had the same feeling when i started to listen to you when i was 19. The album Brave And Crazy was so powerful at that time in my life. I was so inspired that i wrote a song at that time it was called This Train Won't Stop. @@HestersMusicVideos no i was just 19 at the time. I was living in Brownsville,Texas at that time. When i was 21 i moved to a small town south of Houston. Friendswood,Texas became my new home. I worked for Kroger. I recently came back to Brownsville to spend some time with my mom. She is 91 and a amazing woman. She had 11 kids. I'm the youngest. I needed to spend a little time with her. A feeling of fulfillment and peace before her time comes. I plan to move back to Houston in the future. But, i will cherish this time.
