@CRneu
@CRneu Жыл бұрын
Lmao this is a great comment. One of my previous roommates refused to use the dishwasher. I asked him why and he said, "I can wash dishes faster and they come out cleaner." I told him that the time a dishwasher takes to wash a dish is irrelevant and he's 100% wrong that he gets dishes cleaner because dishes are sanitized when they come out of the dishwasher. The amount of water a dishwasher uses is static, as well, so hand washing dishes is less efficient no matter what if the dishwasher is being run anyway. Technology connects changed my mind about dishwashers, as well, so that's why I find your comment so great.

54:12 for stopping the fog, you can get special sprays that do it, divers use it all the time. Shaving cream works, but it stings like a b if you get it into your eye, so i wouldn't. The old-school diver solution is to spit in your mask and smear it onto the glass. Works pretty well and infinitely cheaper than they spray. Also very classy, I'm not sure if people would look at you funny if you're not on a diving boat, but hey it works. 9/10 would recommend.

Don't even touch vinyl coolers. It takes a lot of lead to make it and it slowly powders on the surface as they wear. Having one is like storing your food in an old battery. Same for cheap electrical cords, also the cords on tools. I got more drill batteries and it came with another charger. That cord has a lead warning label right on it. Lead use has been increasing in the US for the last 30 years.

The "Mars time" thing is actually necessary because they can only get work done with the rover during daylight hours on Mars, for a number of reasons: 1. At night, it's dark, so the cameras don't work. 2. At night, it's extremely cold (-65 C at the "warmest") so rovers have to spend basically all their energy on heating. 2. The Earth is closer to the sun than Mars is, so we only have line-of-sight comms to the Martian surface during Martian daytime. Mars does have comms satellites that can return telemetry and other data via the DSN at all times, but commands to the rover can only be sent directly to the rover's antennas during Martian daytime.

As someone with glasses, a trick I learned during the pandemic to keep my glasses from fogging up was to put one drop of dish soap on both sides of the lense, use my finger to rup the soap across the lense, then rinse it off. Do not wipe it to dry, it needs to air dry. Once this is done, there is a really thin film of soap that will keep it from fogging. In my experience, it works for about 3 or 4 hours

There are many anti-fog treated goggles that are vented, unvented or vented filtered. 3m makes all kinds. You don't need to spend a grand on filtration either. The 30 gal 50 micron cloth bags are 25 bucks with a 2ft diameter inlet. Cut a round from plywood and put a 6in hole in that. Hook an inline duct fan to that. A good one or several cheap ones. Add a 6in hose to that if you want to get across the room. That's a few hundred tops depending on the fan. Mine was free from a paranoid cultivator. You can put a spin separator in too if ya really make a lot of sawdust. Then get a hepa filter just because anyway. A super cheap alternative is a box fan with a furnace filter on the back pointed away from you on your bench. Yeah, a grand is too much. I'll build ya one for 500 😃

About the wood working: For googles there is special stuff to put on the inside of googles to prevent fog. It's quite common in diving. But the simplest thing is some soap or just spit into the googles. But the real problem is that you are having saw dust in the air. Better connect some kind of vacuum to your tools and prevent the saw dust in the first place. Then you need to clean up less, too. By the way, for example air masks for fire fighters are build so that the fresh air getting in, first goes about the inside of the glass window, so it stays dry and feee from fog. But if you need to wear a hazmat suit, you will need this special antifog stuff for diving in them too.

46:32 What you guys talked about here reminded me of something I'm pretty sure is a real procedure. In people with heart failure, the heart is too weak to pump the blood effectively. The gold-standard treatment is either medication/pacemakers or heart transplant. But sometimes, I think they harvest a flap of regular skeletal muscle, wrap it around the heart, and connect it to a pacemaker, so it squeezes the heart externally at the right rate. Though personally, I think the main cause of heart failure is insufficient rectal tobacco consumption.

@@Industry-insider having airflow inside your goggles is counterproductive, the goggles that have vents are no better than safety glasses for keeping dust out and it doesn't really cut down on fogging and I'd rather look like a clown as you say than fight with buildup of moisture in goggles or safety glasses, having stuff that actually works is better than looking nice when you're working

@@Industry-insider that doesn't solve the problem of fogging up though and having a fan blowing sawdust into the air just makes it worse, I've tried doing that before and it's even worse what you need is strong suction to suck the dust up rather than spread it further but that still doesn't solve the problem that was being talked about of goggles and glasses fogging. You may not give a shit about your eyes but I've known way too many people who destroy their eyes over the years from the dust and don't realize the damage it's doing as it happens and people who would have lost eyes without em but feel free to keep risking your eyes for no reason I used to be the same way till realizing how idiotic it was

It's probably been answered but in case it still helps: in scuba diving fogging is obviously an issue and there's sprays for that, easy self made solution is baby shampoo heavily diluted with water in a spray bottle. Spray it in and rinse it off. Not sure about the dilution, I'd say 50/1 or something, so just a couple drops in a small spray bottle.

I have a 4k black magic cinema camera, the body was like 1200, so technically with just body and lens, it is really affordable, but I also added a small rig, battery extension, 1tb SD, etc. the reason it is so affordable is because it puta all of it’s development into image quality, it lacks any form of image stabilization, auto focus, and other features common in consumer cameras. The image quality is equivalent to a much more expensive consumer camera.

Let's say 10%(1.862913×10^19 kg each). Silicon dioxide thermite needs a ratio of 1.67:1 SiO2:Al by weight & iron oxide is 2.96:1 so we need 1.7448795×10^19 kg of aluminum. 17.4488 Pt is not even that much. 0.02% of the moon's mass just in case your wondering. Coughing hard is (supposedly) a way to keep blood flowing for a few more moments during some kinds of sudden-onset arrhythmia, but it's hard to measure because it can also break you out of some of the same kinds of arrhythmias. The effect might have to do with reflexive reactions of heartrate and heart conduction to changes in chest pressure, and with physical compression of your heart by the lungs.

The only reason why my antifog lab goggles fog up is because of my breath shooting upwards into the vents of the mask.
