I'm losing my mind! When you said "Mermaid Inn," I paused the video and walked over to this little shelf I have to confirm. I have a little saucer from there that I found in a local thrift store! I knew it said Mermaid Inn, but I couldn't remember the rest--it reads, "The ancient town of Rye, Sussex." Unreal! I live in and bought the saucer in a small town in Indiana, USA. Such a coincidence!

If you want to do more haunted solo adventures you should definitely look at staying in the old prison in Oxford! I stayed there with my family a few years ago and my Mum (who doesn't believe in anything supernatural) even admits that she was woken up (at 3:30am!!!!) by somebody knocking on the door, and there was nobody even nearby in sight when she checked outside the door. It turned out when we did our research that they were in a room which backed onto supposedly the 'most haunted' room in the hotel. So spooky!! But also a really nice hotel lol

I'm from Rye and as a teenager I used to work in a tearoom round the corner from the Mermaid Inn. I remember one day a lady who was staying at the hotel, came up to me on my shift and showed me a picture she took of herself in a mirror there. Behind her shoulder was a clear, ladies ghosts face... no body. Just a face. She asked us all to confirm if we could see it too as she thought she was going crazy. Safe to say, it freaked us all out haha! Loved seeing you explore my hometown Mark! Hope you enjoyed yourself. xxx

Ummm whaaat?! I had no idea this place was being popular for being haunted! We took so many photos in front of it on our summer holiday this year(facing towards the opposite road side though) as there just is the most dreamy house 😍 Rye is sooo beautiful! Why do I always get emotional when I see places that I've been to in someones video or in a film 🥺😂 I remember pointing out the 'dogs welcome people tolerated' sign to my boyfriend too and I'd love a doormat with that haha

Oh Mark, if you like haunted hotels you must visit Shrewsbury! It's said to be one of the most haunted places in England, and i work at a hotel that has rooms from the 12th and 15th centuries! We have had loads of people saying they have seen Martha, one of the many ghosts... If those walls could speak! If you pay us a vsit I will give you a tour of the hotel and Shrewsbury!

Hi Mark, The bolts or sometimes ‘s’ shaped iron on old buildings were used to tighten walls as old houses used to bow without them due to the weight of the roof which in those days were mainly thatched. Bet Thatcher Joe knew this! 😀

Mark omg, me and hubby love rye! We go all the time its just a beautiful little town. Weve gone to the mermaid inn countless amount of times. We always stay in Camber sands which is literally down the road, if you’re ever in Rye again visit camber it has such a beautiful beach! Thanks as always for the videos ❤ and for being you!
