This project is so relevant for me. I picked up a 1970 Dart Swinger for my dad a few months ago. Putting a 360 and 727 from a motorhome in it. First Mopar I'm working on, usually a Ford guy. Mopar people sure are special like their cars.

I have the same injector cleaner. Fill the sonic cleaner with Berryman B12 and fully submerge all the injectors(just lay them down flat) when they are really bad and it clears them right up. I did a set for a S14 that the tip were covered in rust and it cleaned them right up. Also did a set that came out of a 1G Eclipse and had sat for 10 years with E85 in them. They wouldn't flow a drop. Ran the cleaner with Berryman for a hour and the first time I hooked it up they shot out a bunch of gunk then flowed perfect.

Something to be aware about with ultra sonic cleaners. Never place objects to be cleaned on the floor of the tub as this mutes the vibration. The goal is to vibrate the liquid into cavitation so it cleans rather than vibrating the item.

That E85 sure seems to wreak havoc on injectors, I seen a few videos from Australia, The skid Factory, Benny’s Motor Works, and watched were they had the same issues with them not opening up, but holy fawk! Those are just being stubborn !👍🇨🇦

@@imboredadr Your cleaning method is fine ( ish ) except for the injectors contacting the floor of the tub, they need to be about an inch suspended off the floor. Unless a really powerful industrial u sonic is used, the mass of the injector mutes the cleaning action even then there is a loss of effectiveness. A couple more details: With the tub filled with cleaning solution, run the u sonic for 5 to 10 minutes, this degasses the solution and makes for better cleaning action. Branson is a big name in U sonic, there are manuals online. Using flammable cleaning solution is iffy due to fire risk.

80's Toyota head here. I bring back stuck injectors with a cheap amazon injector tester, while running in a cheap ultrasonic cleaner. It's how the injector shops do it. Sometime it takes a bit but they will start to cycle. Especially ones that have been running e-10, do it a few times and they come around. Those that were stuck never flow the same, but it'll get you going when you have oddball injectors and need them to work. Can let them run 15-30mins and you'll hear them slowly start to cycle. Just barely submerge them while the tester is set to continuously run. I run them in a ziplock with your cleaner of choice, with just water in the cleaner, makes it easy to apply whatever chemical you want without the water in the ultrasonic getting contaminated. Once you go ultrasonic you never go back..

My first car was a POS 76 dart with a rod knocking slant6. I beat the everlovin crap out of that pig for almost a year, and it lasted a lot longer than it had any right to. Finally chucked the rod doing donuts under a bridge overpass one night. Slapped a patch on the block hole and drove it another 2 months on 5 cylinders until the trans went out. Good memories!

Pro tip: if you have a stuck injector, put it in BOILING cleaning fluid (water-based for safety like simple green) for 2-4 minutes then remove it and try to pulse it. The heat usually liquifies any varnish keeping them stuck closed. After that, put that boiling fluid in the sonic bath and clean it in there then run it thru the flow test before it cools. Hot fluid also cleans faster.

Time 215 Heating the shop Get some of the aluminum foil faced insulation board from the home center and install it on the inside of the garage door. Usually 2 layers of 3/4" thick fits just fine. Single layer steel doors are about no door at all when it comes to insulation.

Tip for Barb: next time use AN-nut over the AN-flance so you can use socket and not pliers. To tighten the fitting.. Also could have used not male-female extension fitting to bring the an-fitting away from the tight area.

Tie the sub frsme together, slice the rear insert the box tubing into it as far as you can shape it to the bottom of the curve up, put a plate on the front to the rear of the Cross member. That supports the transmission. It reall straighten the chassis.

Epic episode. Annual fuel Injector toss is now officially a New Years ritual

Fuel injector cleaning/reviving tip: Using the tip of a metal engraving tool lightly can usually vibrate these injectors free. Put a few drops from the needle applicator of a lubricating penetrating fluid called “BlueCreeper” into the injector inlet (this stuff is miracles in a bottle for breaking things free getting things moving smoothly but doesn’t stink to high heaven). While holding the injector upright, use one of those vibrating metal engraving tools and simply touch the injector body lightly a few times on the metal body of the injector. This intense vibration allows for both the extremely thin viscosity BlueCreeper fluid to flow deeper into and bound up or clogged areas and help vibrate free the mechanical operation of the injector. 👍🏻😎👍🏻 (A quick note about this BlueCreeper stuff: I discovered this penetrating fluid when I was reconditioning and restoring frozen up all metal vintage sewing machines and small electric motors. This stuff was mind blowingly effective at getting these machines freed up. Had to be careful what you use on these very old machines as well as old vintage electric motors. BlueCreeper is dielectric and it’s also a lubricant so it’s safe and highly effective to use it in the bushings where the stator shaft rotates. I use it on absolutely everything now including my electric shaver blades, key locks, etc. and as a sharpening stone lubricant it makes for some SERIOUSLY sharp knives and scissors, lol. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
