Theoretically speaking, doesn't James pay for the house that Marnie currently lives in and Ste works in? James just wanted a quiet place to work free from distractions so that he can work on Juliet's case and figure out how she can get a lighter sentence. Why does James let Marnie and Ste boss him around like that? Where's the old James Nightingale gone?

What are you talking about? James (and the other kids when they were in the show) always let Marnie boss them around.

@@MrStGeorgeIllawarra My point is not about Marnie, but why James let Ste threaten to sue him with a bogus letter given that he is his employer and a lawyer. James and Ste got into an argument and Ste accidentally went over James' bottom line that he gave Ste a verbal warning. He didn't fire him. Yet, Ste thought that this was grounds to sue James for additional benefits and a pay increase. This is just laughable at this point. It's like Ste now holds all the cards and power over James after they slept together. Why can't they arrange a schedule where James can work on Juliet's case in peace without distractions and Ste can do his job and earn enough to buy stuff for his kids? Like Ste can get the vacuuming done when James is on his lunch break.

@@ekuz986 Exactly, Ste provoked James in the kitchen and it got out of hand so nothing makes sense. James could have booked a hotelroom to be left alone with his work but instead he sat in the kitchen near Ste. Why? Just to make some non logic drama :)
