You should utilize the water from the natural spring nearby to keep the pond completely full with fresh clean water. You could set up some type of pump or even a pipeline that could transport the water with gravity like the one in the old barn that they used for water for the cattle. I just love to see the pond completely full especially with fresh clean water, and I am sure the ducks and geese would appreciate it too!

@stellagachacrafter8382
@stellagachacrafter8382 3 жыл бұрын
@@ave789 Alpha theory, also known as dominance theory, was come up with when doing a study on a "pack" of wolves. None of these wolves knew each other, as well as they were in captivity. The study was, in lack of better words, bull crap, and the results showed that "wolves will fight for dominance, to be the alpha over other wolves" Better studies on wild wolf packs since have shown that there is no such thing as fighting for dominance and no such alpha, the leaders of a wolf pack are simply the oldest wolves, and 90% of the time, are the mother and father of the rest of the pack. But many people still follow the old, disproven study and apply it to their own dogs. There are 2 things wrong with this, 1. It was disproven, not true, irrelevant, etc. 2. Even if it was true, dogs are _not_ wolves. They haven't been wolves for a very, very long time. They have evolved and changed while living with humans to the point that they hardly have wolf in their DNA any more. Because of this, people say you should "be the Alpha" and "dominate your dog" Things dogs do, often when under exercised or simply bored, or when they're young and still exploring the world, will be taken as "They're trying to dominate you! Don't let them!" Even though that is absolutely not true. Trying to "dominate" your dog, is really just bullying and hurting them, not to mention not going to get you anywhere when it comes to training, so it's pointless. Now, wild *dog* packs are a different story, as wild dogs or strays/street dogs, will form their own little packs. These dogs aren't family, they often don't know each other well, they're also often many different breeds and personalities. These dogs do fight to be at the top, because they have no real structure. They also aren't wolves, so they don't know how to structure themselves.

Hey Morgan! I left a more detailed comment about what I mean by this on your bentonite sealing video. But a great way to better your little ecosystem could be to add oxygenation to your pond. With some kind of flow and arietion through the water, it would help the pond settle as well as make it a viable breeding ground for all sorts of living organisms and microorganisms. It would greatly benefit your ducks and your land. As well as the surrounding ecosystem. Hope you read this! Take care! Love your content keep at it

One thing that is pretty awesome about potatoes is that they are versatile. I have been raising potatoes on and off for several years. They are probably one of the easiest plants to raise. Mostly what you need to do, is get him in the ground or in a pot water them for a little bit then let him go. You can shoot them some water if you need to, but they do pretty well just going all natural. So I wouldn't really fuss with them much. That spot on your farm is probably ideal for the potatoes. Since it's hard for you to irrigate it well. They will do pretty well there. The only thing I would recommend for next year, would be to start them earlier. I know that Vermont does have bad weather longer than a lot of other states, but you can still plant them earlier. For instance, for most plants you would plant them around late April early May. However, you can plant potatoes as early as late March, early April. You may even be able to plant them earlier. They are extremely cold tolerant I don't mind a little snow.

I grew my 1st potatoes 3 years ago. So easy and so yummy. I also feed my ducks and chickens peas for a treat. The goslings are so cute. And I give bread to my chickens. I have a leghorn that looks forward to it everyday that if I don’t have any she looks up at me with anger in her eyes. Yep, she gets mad. Glad Toby got a steak. I thought he was going to try and bury it. Good video. 👍✌🏻

We planted some potatoes months ago and they are currently going crazy. I hope yours will be productive.

Goslings dangle like toddlers and toddlers dangle like goslings, that's why we find both so cute 😍

Just a little tip when growing potatoes. If you cut them into pieces you should let them heal before planting them. I’ve learned it by watching Hoss Tools. Love watching your videos. Thanks for sharing.

Toby is the one thing getting me through college right now. Such a cute a relaxing fluff ball to watch inbetween homework assignments. Seeing him so happy and dirty eating a steak was the highlight of my week. lol

I come from a family that used to farm long before I was born. Specializing was very common. They would work with other farmers to make trades for what other farmers specialized in.

Toby is such a sweetheart. You could see his good boy mentality when you told him to sit and stay, and then gave him the go ahead. 😭 He didn’t believe it was actually for him at first.

The goslings look so funny with little wings flapping but boy do they ever have a lot to say first thing in the morning.

I love this title because the day I had to put my dog down, I fed him my entire pot roast. I only saved myself the carrots and potatoes. :)

Should have commented this a few videos ago but the goslings definitely give peas a chance 😛😛😆 (Also Toby stealing a bread roll and guarding his steak from the chickens is hilarious 😂😆🤣)

I think your potatoes will grow just fine. We planted them that way in our garden in Colorado, and we always had good crops. Yes, we had to weed them, but that's part of having a garden. Good luck with em.
