I've considered myself a good base stealer in high school ball and this will really help me do as much as i can on the bases. Thanks and good video

Man I’ve never thought to teach my boys to watch the lift or slide leg pitch! Thanks for the insight!

one thing i used to do was my lead foot toes matched the back of my trail heel. i was halfway through my turn before i even started to run. i got caught stealing in babe ruth twice in 6 years of always having the green light to go, and always trying to get to third within the next batters at bat.

Great tips Matt. Love the end especially about being a legit threat to run all the time can force catchers/pitchers to throw hitters more fastballs and it helps everyone. Will share with our 13 year olds next spring.

How do you feel about delayed steals?
@pbennett134 жыл бұрын
general question is WHY don’t players steal more bases. Back in the 70’s in 80’s you had several guys - Rickey Henderson the most notable would steal 100+ bases... but in today’s game, a “great” base stealer barely gets 50. What happened?
@WilliamSmith-mz9qz3 жыл бұрын
I think sabermetrics has determined that the risks of getting thrown out stealing aren’t worth it unless you have a stolen base percentage over 75%. Guys like Rickey Henderson and Tim Raines would be ok to run but there were guys back then who stole a lot of bags but were thrown out more than 25% of the time. Some of the bases Rickey Henderson stole would not be counted as stolen bases today they would be scored as indifference.
