HIGHLY recommend Awaken the Woods for this deck. Been playing a mono-green version of this deck (originally designed by LegendVD) and its the combo piece that makes the deck tick, as it makes a bunch of bodies to get around spot removal, and all of those bodies count as lands. This can make for truly silly lines of play where you ramp a bit, play a hydra, and if they dont remove it you play awaken for as little as X = 2 or 3, and then attack with a 128/128 hydra. With Felidar Retreat, you can either have a huge pack of creatures out of nowhere, or a smaller number of large bodies.

Since the ladder is so removal heavy lately the recent experiment is Ode to Boggles. Monogreen, stack with ward creatures, Innkeeper's Talents, and equipment to taste. Run out one or two creatures at a time in case of sweepers (at least two against black to dodge Lilli/edicts) and stack 'em tall with multiple wards. It's kind of amazing how many people straight up botch the math.

Not really. It doesn't put the and into play. It's not just about getting land, it's about having it hit the board both for landfall triggers and for advancing the mana count.
