I was surprised that it was open most bothy are left open incase of emergencies . This one i think you have to book in advance as it's easy to get to the one. I have been here lot's of times and it's normally locked 🔒

They are never locked they are for safety in bad weather and a place to sleep

This is the only one that I have seen locked. I think so many people come to see the steall waterfall that's is easy drive and 30 mins walk up too . I can imagine lots of people wanting to go in.

Steall Hut isn’t a normal bothy. Somebody will have booked and have the key. Not usually left open. You need to book that through a dude called Ewan Kay. £10 a head 👍🏼
