Stealth Cam QS12K Unboxing and Setup

Just doing a quick unboxing and setup of the Stealth Cam QS12K.
Camera was $78 at Walmart.

Thank you so much! I had a QS12FX camera (Used, not in a package) given to me from a family member, so I didn't have an instruction manual to go off of to figure out how to set it up. Although yours was a slightly different model, the instructions were still fairly the same, and I was able to figure out how to set up the camera! Thank you so much!

LOL! Thanks, I bought several cameras to set up around my property, but I bought this one to be a remote cam in a place I seldom travel. I set it up, (so I thought) left it for a month and pulled the card hoping to see all the bears roaming my property, to my shock, I never hit the "Quit" function so it never recorded a thing. Lucky for me you posted an idiots guide for this camera since I lost the instructions. Thanks much.

yeah the display is designed for dyslexic folks. have to use the instructions to decipher the commands. F70dE.

After years of using trail cameras I have found it best to use the blue /silver colored lithium batteries for longer life. yes, they are expensive but in the long run it's better

i have this camera and watched your video and set it up it was working inside but when my husband took it out to the deer feeder over night we put the sd card in computer to look at pics and there were only 3 of him no deer any idea why ?

I have had Mine for less than a year, and It takes pictures of eeverything But when I leave the deer come all around it and no pictures, and the batteries are new, It also took 2 pictures as I was removing the card, Do you have any Idea what is wrong? Is it me or the camera?

On the cam when its goes threw the count down and says ready, do you just close it up?or after the count down and when it say ready do you hit enter??? Or just when it says ready just close it up and its ready????? Please help thanks

I got the same one. So you are telling me that on video mode I can only choose 5 min delay between video shoots? I can't choose 60 min or 30 min delay? Last night I set up this camera in the woods and all the SD card memory was used up in 1hr because it kept taking videos of critters every 5 mins and it overwrote previous nocturnal video which was the one I was interested in. I want it to record 1 min video every 30 mins and not be triggered every 5 mins.

I put it right and when its is "rdy" it put next " SD LC" ! and it turn off and nothing is taken by the camera. Ayone with this problem?

what are you using to view videos? i have the same camera and have no problems with pictures but i cant watch the videos that are recorded with my chrome book, ipad or laptop. i have tried several sd cards and i still have the same issue

Not sure what your issue might be with that. I would call the company and ask for a new camera.

I'm having the same problem. I had the P12 but took it back when I couldn't get video to play on my phone, now I have the QS12K and I'm still not able to view video, that's too coincidental that I get 2 defective cameras in a row. Maybe there's a setting on my phone and I'm just not getting right.

I have had the same issue even after reformatting 4 SD cards, camera us set for 15 sec. video and I can not even view the videos on the stealthcam card reader. SD cards are formatted in NFTS format.

Just push it with your finger nail. It is spring loaded. Should come right out.

No audio on this camera. Other higher end cameras offer that feature.

How do u find the video on the stealth cam? It took 5 videos..I used my sd card and the adapter to check it out on my phone. All the pics showed up but whenever I put it on video it just shows blanks. Like itll show the 5 videos it took but when i click on them they are all black. What am i doing wrong?

I had some issues with this as well, the best thing to do is put the card in your computer and view them there. I hope this helps.

Instructions on my newly purchased QS14AT say "with the SD card label facing towards the front of camera, insert the SD card". It won't go in this way. The SD card label needs to face the back of camera as you are doing it. Mistakes like these that one encounters at the very beginning of sitting the thing up are really discouraging for folks who are a bit scared of technology to begin with

No it uses a infared light and there is a very small red light when it takes a pic but doesn't bother game.

Buddy those "purple" lights are infra-red lights and you can't see them, the only reason you see them is because the guy's video camera somehow catched it, but no animal or human eyes can see them at night, that's the point.

Just unpacked mine and inserted SD card. Won't recognize it. Says "No card". Now what? I've had it in and out 10 times.

Use a different SD card or format the card on the computer. Sometimes the cards go bad.

you have to make sure you insert the little SD card in the bigger SD card. The little one is the real memory chip, the bigger one is an adaptor to let the Game Camera's bigger slot hold it...likewise for your computer SD drive if you try to view your pix that way

Good video, you went a little fast for me to look at the video and then my camera and your fingers hid what button you were pushing on. Also, the display is pretty crummy in as much as trying to figure out what mode it is on, like another viewer said, "it's like an etch-a-sketch", can't really make out what the display says...You were helpful, but please try again, with a pause and a little slower for us beginners ...:-)).............

Once you open the bottom there is a power button. Just hold it down for a second or two once you put batteries in. It should turn on, then it is ready for use.

This camera is junk and whats bad is I bought the newer version.. The 16mp. I set it up for a week then went this weekend to pick it up. It took 11,000 pics and 80% of them are blurred. The night time pics are distorted. I won't buy another one. I experimented with alot of different cameras. Another bad one is the tasco 10 mp camera. I bought 3 in Febuary and all of them take 3 pics then pauses for the next 3. Out of the 3 pics each time, 2 of them are dark. The video is bad quality. All of mine have lines running across. I'm going back to reconyx. It is expensive but you get what you pay for.

These cameras suck. Got a two pack in December. They’re missing all kinds of motion. And the night pictures are trash.
