Nice little hooch bivy. I prefer tiny little shelters like that. They catch less wind, are a little stealthier, and help retain a little body heat. If using a poncho in place of the pole you can bend over a close by sapling and tie it to the poncho hood. The spring action will pull the poncho up and minus the pole have more room inside.

I agree on the smaller shelters lol. Good thing with this setup, it what ever you use for support, the bungees let you put it up, and change as needed. Of coarse the sapling idea is a good idea too!

Great video. That’s a great stealth configuration but in a pour down most people would probably not like to crawl on their belly in wet/damp conditions to get in and out. What are your thoughts on

For the most part, this really isn't that far removed from a Hooch ( because of the bungees, the pole can be moved to where ever you want it ), used by some Army vets of the 60's and 70's. Unfortunately, you have to low crawl to get in. Having a small sit-pad, could be laid there to keep you out of the we.

Greetings from soggy England. I think you might enjoy the recent Outsider Tank video about B.L.I.S.S. and how to pick a site and increase concealment, there's some great tips he shares on his channel.

Great idea to use bungee cord! I'll try it out and make sure I use an adjustable pole to keep it in tension.👍

It works well with smaller tarps, but I'm sure it can be adapted to a larger one. Just need stronger bungee's

Yeah I use them too. Sometimes I will carry one in my pack so don't have to take a trekking pole. Just cut a stick and put the topper/chair leg rubber on it, good to go! Thanks for the comment
