There are even Orang Asli/Asal (Indigenous people) villages in all around KL... Damansara Damai - which is now very modern, Kemensah - here is semi modern, you can also go camping there, Hulu Tamu in Batang Kali, 12th Mile Jalan Gombak - Sg Pisang Waterfall, Bukit Lagong to name a few. And there are several tribes. In pulau Carey it's mostly of the MahMeri tribe. Gombak it's more Termiar and Semoi. Kemensah is mixed. Then if you go to Taman Negara it's Batek. In Cameron Highlands it's mostly Senoi.

Generally it's safe in Malaysia. But be CAREFUL. Don't just simply go to a place that you're not confident with. That palm plantation is still in the airport's property. Be careful at that area. Rats usually eat palms & they attract snakes too. There's a designated spot in that airport where you can laydown/sleep but it's hell freezing

No way would I have done KLIA. I would have tried Sabang Airport, the old KL airport near where you are staying. Surrounded by golf courses, patches of jungle, lots of opportunities. Kudos to you as always. Viewers have little idea of how hot, humid and uncomfortable it is there.
