20 Simple rules to building my drum rack: 1. Form follows function, any other rule can be bent, but only to suit this one. 2. No tripods. Anywhere. Ever. 3. Large T-Legs on all vertical rack posts. 4. All vertical posts will be finished at the top with a boom arm mount. 5. Cross bars will be at their lowest possible positions over the bass drum, floor toms, and under the hihats. 6. Dual crossbars in the front and sides is an acceptable option. 7. All toms will be mounted with ‘super’ multi clamps. 8. Only black multi clamps on chrome bars will be used, contrast is nice. 9. Hinged, wing nut memory locks on all clamps, every time. 10. Never more than a 45 degree angle on any cymbal boom arms. 11. All cymbal arms shall be straight up and down. 12. No cymbal arms can angle out or away from the center, only in. 13. Boom arm clamps may be used only on cymbal booms that are horizontal. 14. No cymbal stacking booms or trees, I must have access to each bell, bow, and edge of every cymbal. 15. All cymbals will be mounted in the traditional manner, with the wing nut on top. 16. Main snare basket must appear to ‘float’. 17. Side snare will either be mounted to the left rear vertical leg of the rack, or to the cross bar, but the basket’s post must be at 90 degrees from the horizontal. 18. No ‘second tiers’ above the main cross bars, beneath is acceptable. 19. The overall look of the rack must appear as a ‘frame’, not a tangled mess of steel and aluminum. 20. As much of each drum will be displayed as possible.

I use the Stealth Rack to hold the snare and 2 rack toms offset I use the Spanner Bar under the double tom mount and 2 boom arms to each hold a crash cymbal beside the toms.

Option D is interesting but I have a 26" bass drum and I've never seen arms that have enough reach. Would love to bring my 2nd rack tom back into use, but offset toms messes up my hats.

Is the side rack strong enough to support two floating toms and a couple cymbals?

For some reason when I forwarded this message to Brent to find out what happened, the "no leg" part didn't get forwarded... kind of weird really since it was just a forwarded message. This is correct, the no leg version has been discontinued, sorry for the miscommunication.

GibraltarDIY maybe you make a hihat stand model where the leg assembly can be detached.

Not sure if after 9 years comments are monitored or not but.... Is there anyone at Gibraltar who can help configure two stealth side racks?

Thanks for reaching out! And yes we do still monitor these. Unfortunately, we do not have a dedicated person to help customers with each build, but if you have some questions and reach out to customer support through our site, we can for sure help as best as possible.
