Being able to play in bed (or on the couch) was one of the reasons I got the SteamDeck. I work at a computer all day and really didn’t like spending even more hours on it playing games. The SteamDeck definitely provides flexibility. I’ve had it for about 2 weeks now and absolutely love it! I’ve played through 5 verified games just through Steam and haven’t even delved into different launchers or emulators (have yet to checkout desktop mode). Endless possibilities, honestly.

Nice unboxing. Totally agree about treating yourself. I pre-ordered mine a year ago like everyone else, and was honestly not expecting to be able to afford it when I got the email... but it was only £4 to have the option. As it happened, it's my 50th in a couple of weeks, and the stars aligned this month where I actually had enough "spare" money to buy it. So when the email came a week ago, I didn't hesitate, and I got mine yesterday. So excited.

I just got mine today too. Ordered on July 18, 2021. Got the email to order on July 21, 2022. I thought about it for 24hrs and decided to splurge and get it. Like you said, life's too short.

I splurged too and ordered mine today cause I got my email to order last week and it expired but I contacted steam and they sent me another invite to place my order so I ordered it 😁 I wonder how long it will take for me to receive it !

@@Dubcity5 It shouldn't take long, they ship pretty fast. They're pretty quick to process orders. I placed the order last Friday afternoon and they shipped it out a couple days later, Sunday afternoon was when FedEx picked it up. FedEx is the wild card. Their on time has been hit or miss for me lately. At first it estimated it would be delivered the next day. I think it was just a glitch in their system, ground shipping is never that quick, if anything, it's usually late a couple days. My Steam Deck arrived when they original estimated it would, 2 days after ship.

Id say get an Anker 60w power brick and a good high wattage type c cable. Id say go as high as possible. 100W should be still the max. The Anker might be more power efficient too.

Did you throw a screen protector on the 512?

@@Gr13fKvlt I did but it countered the non reflective screen and also grabbed fingerprints like nobodies business so I took it off. The screen was also hard to press through the protector. So it's better without it.

My Steam Deck is 100% worth it. It is literally how I'm able to play Hogwarts Legacy and we know how worth that is 😌 if I didn't own this I wouldn't be able to play Hogwarts Legacy at all so I'm super happy with this hole in my wallet, I'm still recouping the savings all this time later lol
