How does the piko rc receiver mount if u already have sound? Your install video shows install without soundboard

Will this work with digitrax dcc system?
@danpikoamerica73143 жыл бұрын
@Jon choochoo93 Yes, the SoundTraxx made decoders work with Digitrax. Your only possible issues would be if you have more than 24V going to the track or if you were trying to use a digital system that is not NMRA compliant.

@@danpikoamerica7314 My Max is 24 V should I be concerned with anything else if I do buy that kit?

I have one of these locos with this sound and DCC, it works great with my NCE system. DCC decoders that are NMRA compliant work with ALL DCC systems, or at least so far they all work with my DCC system from about 8 different decoder manufacturers. They're might be some really old decoders out there that may not work. I actually have a 2nd one of these systems arriving in the mail today, hence why I'm watching this video as I'm really impressed with the one in my other PIKO loco, the sound and control is great in both DCC and DC modes!

Does this give DCC functionality as well? Or do I need to buy and install a separate DCC decoder?
@danpikoamerica73145 жыл бұрын
Jesse, The 36220 American Steam Sound Kit includes all you see in this video... The DCC circuit board (or digital decoder) pre-loaded with sound files and digital train control software, a high-quality speaker, a volume control circuit board that also has a smoke control switch (for if you choose to add a smoke unit), a reed switch and a cover for the reed switch. So, this includes the DCC decoder and all sound items you need. (The only thing you might want to add is a smoke unit and some smoke fluid.)

@@danpikoamerica7314 thank you so much for your quick reply. Very exciting to know all I would need is this to get my SP #4449 Mogul ready for a DCC layout.

Can you use this on bachmann trains or is it just for piko trains
@danpikoamerica73144 жыл бұрын
@Tyson aaron white, we have heard of folks using it on a few other brands. The wiring diagrams match PIKO products, but everything is clearly labeled so that you can line it up with another brand if desired.

One Question.. Do you have to remove the 5 volt regulator from boiler of the locomotive or can it stay? I noticed the loco ran fine without it removed in the test run..
@PIKOAmerica9 жыл бұрын
+Babs Courtney Babs, great question. The voltage regulator in the standard 0-6-0 and Moguls duplicates the voltage regulator built into the 36220 digital sound circuit board. If left in, it will run with no problems since they duplicate the same function. However you can remove it if you want to eliminate the duplicate work, or if you would like to use it in another locomotive. Thanks for the questions, and have fun running your trains!”

I have a question I bought 0-6-0 union pacific version with the electonics already installed. When I first trun on the unit the smoke unit is strong but then it tapers off is that normal?

+Douglas Schultz Hi Douglas: It would be good if you could give us a call on our toll-free number 877-678-4449. There are several things that could affect the smoke output, ranging from the type of power supply to electrical contact issues. We can walk through some steps to help diagnose the problem.

I want to add this to lgb steam where would I find wiring info.
@danpikoamerica73146 жыл бұрын
PIKO wiring instructions are located in the 36220 Sound Kit, or can be downloaded from the PIKO (Germany) shop. (www.piko-shop.de/ You could also email info@piko-america.com and ask for them.) Our instructions list what each wire and terminal are for. You would likely want the wiring diagram from your loco as well for reference.
