That's just a side-effect of preserving the format while decreasing the pitch.

@@MountC I mean, to be fair, there's a certain point where a person's voice begins to fry. It varies from person to person and since they're Caucasian and Chalmers' voice is already a bit gravelly, it's more likely to be at a higher pitch. So, I'd say this is pretty accurate to how they would sound if they were to gradually lower the pitch of their voice.
