Aahh, I see what you did there. Rather than telling Sutan that she can't have anymore anpanman, you deflected Sutan's focus. By praising her ability to eat all of the anpanman and encouraging her to eat the bread, you avoided the inevitable fall out from telling her no more anpanman. Very smart.

Yeah quite a character....thats why i love tougher parents that make kids understand hierarchy instead of teaching them that theyre special and everyone is the same. No...we have to work to become good. Were not born with it. And we have to respect our elders and the fact that they worked hard for kids to to eat and drink and live in a good house. Nothing comes for free. That is why respect is key

I dont need a Name -so you’d rather this child be silent, submissive, and hiding in a corner to be only seen but not heard? Because that’s what happens to children of “tough” parents. I grew up in a severely authoritarian household, being taught daily that my wants and needs are unimportant, and I now have a personality disorder as an adult. This mother here is attentive, compassionate, and very loving towards her child- as all parents should be. That is how you raise a healthy and HAPPY human being.

Theres tons of kids that are educated expressive yet they know theyre boundaries and how to respect older and smarter people. Theres kids that say thank you please good morning . They make jokes at the same time but they are smart enough to underarand respect. Kids should see adults as examples and models. Not as equals and even worse lesser than them. Dont go around with yout stereotypes. You have done no studies saying that toughers parents create closed kids. In fact, seeing from real life the opposite is true. Ive seen tons of kids from liberal parents that are closed introverted shy and even obnoxious exhibitionist etc. So its all up to communication. But kids need to realize as YOUNG as possible that you need to work and have good models in life...hopefully starting from your parents.

The original word for it is Shao Mai. Shumai/siomai/siewmai etc are the Chinese dialect versions, usually from Cantonese as they are famous for Dimsum.

moe-san, thank you for your honesty about making the shumai wrappers 😂 As a beginner cook who does not have good skills, I know I could not get it to be thin enough. I bought wonton wrappers from the market, and I think it saved me a lot of time. 😅 I really loved the filling; fresh shrimp is expensive in our city and dried shrimp lasts longer and is more affordable for us so it really worked out great. thanks again for the recipe!

*Dumpling recipe is very similar to Mandu in Korea. But I usually buy mandu as it's not easy to make at home😂 I tried Japanese dumpling. It has lots of liquid inside than ours I think👍*
