Steamed Teochew Yam Cake 潮州芋丝糕 | Delightful Snacks Series | Cook with Pam ASIA TO OZ
This is Chaozhou's hometown-style yam cake. The yam is not cut into cubes, but is shaved into coarsely shredded. Add a small amount of flour and seasonings and steam it into a streaming tray. You can taste the special aroma of yam powder in every bite.
這是潮州家乡式的芋头糕,芋头不切块,刨成粗丝,捞入少量的粉和调味料便可蒸成一盆,每一口都可尝到芋头特殊的粉燸香气。

Ingredients:
2 tbsp oil
3 tbsp chopped shallot
2 tbsp chopped garlic
50g dried prawns, washed and soaked
800g yam/ taro, shredded coarsely
100g rice flour
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
1 tsp chicken stock powder
Garnishing:
Red chillies
Spring onion
Fried shallot
