This part was SO worth the wait. Seeing all these things that went on during Magic Railroad peaks my interest of that film even more and still makes me wonder what it’d had been like to see the film unedited. Definitely rivals chapter 5 as the best part in this ongoing series, Dan! P.S. My favorite narrator has always been George Carlin. He’s the one I grew up with the most, especially during S2-4, and brought the most memorable voices and narration to the series.

Very good documentary right there! This chapter is definitely worth the wait! Here are my favourite Thomas storytellers: Michael Angelis and Mark Moraghan. Angelis did a pretty good job at narrating the series until 2012. While he sounded rather dragged for most parts, he still gives out that uplifting tone. My favourite voices he did was for James and Percy when he gave them Liverpudlian accents. They were so funny to listen to. Michael even did a great job on narrating for The Railway Stories audiobooks. It hard to believe that he was the longest-serving UK narrator. Moraghan definitely did a brilliant job at narrating for Seasons 17 to 21. The tone of his voice was very energetic. It makes him sound quite similar to Angelis. It's a shame Mark is no longer the narrator for the series, but he did say that he's still narrating for online content and he might be voicing a character in S22. So, I wish him good luck. That said, I like to thank Michael Angelis and Mark Moraghan to being my inspirations to make audio narrations of Thomas & Friends.

So I must say, very well researched an edited! I would have only recommended maybe going more in-depth with Tatmrr marketing (such as the re-broadcast of STS on NickJR to promote the film, those weird train history short promos featuring Mara Wilson, The Subway Promotion, and the Locomotion song and the absence of a full MV). Still a FANTASTIC doc series, this deserves to be on TV! (but to answer your question, Alec and George are tied for my top narrator spot, Brandon is #2)

I loved this chapter. I remember when 'Thomas & the Magic Railroad' aired on BBC1 for the very first time. It was on at the same time when episodes of 'Red Dwarf' V & VI were shown late in the evening during the Christmas Holidays of 2002. I still have the video tape with the combination of 'Red Dwarf' episodes & 'Thomas & the Magic Railroad' today. And then Series 6 aired a week later afterwards. It was on before 'Ripley and Scuff' and remember coming home from school to watch Thomas on the TV to make my day after my day at school. I also remember when Series 7 aired, it aired 2 episodes at the same time and we got treated to two episodes on Monday and then 2 on Friday. I was delighted when Series 8 aired on CITV, but was surprised when they aired only 13 episodes in January and then later on in September. My favourite narrator is Michael Angelis, because he has a voice for every character and he has a happy voice when he narrates.

And it was interesting to see Britt hiring two actors Ewan McGregor and Bob Hoskins to play as Thomas in the Thomas the Magic Railroad movie. Also by the way, Season 7 was the considered as the last season of the Classic Era, whereas Season 8 was the first season to be from the HiT Model era, or New series that most people call it.

This was definitely worth the wait! I find it such a shame that Magic Railroad was torn apart by test audiences as it could've been a great family film. I have fond memories of seasons 6&7 watching them on VHS tapes such as The Fogman, Engines to the Rescue and Brave Little Engines. I can remember really enjoying the new characters like Salty, Harvey, Spencer etc. However upon recieving the All Aboard with the Steam Team VHS is when i started to move away from the series as the music had changed and the stories felt slower it's here when I thought maybe I'm too old for Thomas now and started to get into other programmes like Doctor Who and The Simpsons. In terms of favourite narrator I find it hard to choose between Ringo Starr and Michael Angelis (S3-6) as they're both the voices of my childhood and was raised on them both equally. Can't wait for chapter 7!

Honestly, In 42:31, when he mentioned the part when most fans of the show states that season 8-12 was a "reboot", I felt a little bit confused, mainly for having characters that were in the classic series, such as Harvey, Cranky, Murdoch or Arthur, and also, the show during that time wasn't really a reboot, it was more or less like a continuation of the classic series, with a little bit less realism(counting the inclusion of the fact that the engines can drive by themselves without a driver.), and also, it still shows characters from the railway series (not counting the main cast of characters) such as Duck, Bill, Ben, Donald or Douglas.
