[By NaturalOne] Ryndinovaia City. A hive of crime and lawlessness. The day was overcast, the streets damp with rain. Shepherds, mechanical law constructs, watched from on high, paying attention to every detail that crossed their path. Two figures, one tall and laden with muscle, the other slender and fair, ebon skin kissed by the moisture, strode through the streets, keeping to themselves. Both wore long black coats trimmed in royal blue and dark tunics and boots. "Shouldn't be far now, Mithral" the smaller of the two, a drow, told her companion, who rested a hand on a large and intimidating firearm at his hip. "The Laughing Knives aren't too subtle." "For their sake, let's hope they are." Mithral said. As if on cue, a nearby door burst open. A man dressed in tattered leather armor and a hideous grinning mask fell upon the pale man, a knife flashing in his hand. It dove downward, but before it could find purchase, a heavy punch sent him spiraling away with a trail of blood and spit. Mithral jumped to his feet, drawing his firearm and unleashing a devastating blast into his opponent's gut. The gore splattered the wall behind him. "Thanks for the help, Anluri," he growled. The drow smirked. "My pleasure. Come on." They dashed on, coats dancing around their ankles. They rounded a bend, coming face to face with a scene straight from a nightmare. A pile of corpses, all wearing similar grinning masks, rotted at the end of an alley. On top of them, a tiefling in well-kept studded leather, idly tossing a dirk in his hand. The devil turned his face at the two, a jack o' lantern-like grin splitting his hideous face. Half of it was withered and gaunt, devoid of life, the eye burning like a candle. "Mithral Adonnis and Anluri Yril'Lysuae," he equally rasped and crooned. I've waited a long time for your arrival. The job you were sent for has already been taken care of." Mithral leveled his cannon. "Who are you?" The tiefling strode forward, that hellish grin still stretched across his face. "A great admirer, and a possible employer of your skills. It's a shame vulcanists aren't employed often anymore for their skill." "How do you know who and what we are?" the drow, Anluri, demanded. "I've done my research, and am willing to pay handsomely for your skills. Or is this not payment enough?" he rolled a key in between his fingers until it presented itself. The two stared. My friends and I have technically played a less organized version through ms paint when we were even younger without even knowing of RPs being an actual thing. @@Droid15243Z Thank you ! Yes sure, TTRPGs are not limited to D&D or Cthulhu. When I was a kid I created my own game with Legos, and I was doing the "gamemaster". My friends had figurines, stats, spells and items. It was not very oranized but we had lots of fun so that's what matters ;)
