Nice work, I especially like the flickering light idea!

Hey, I appreciate the time and effort in the explanation of creating a really detailed prop. I would have loved to have seen them on a model to see the final product.

Its a clear coat polyurethane in several layers. It dries fairly quickly and leaves a very solid protective layer over the entirety of the build. Its not rock solid or anything and can still scratch, but its a sight better than just a simple coat of paint.

Thank you for the compliment! As to being difficult, its not near as difficult as you may think, it solely depends on how much work you really want to put into it mainly in way of complexity. As to time, yes, making these can be very time consuming, but its well worth it in the end.

Sorry that I haven't been able to leave a reply comment on here as of yet, my most sincere apologies. As to having someone model them, ill work on that. To keep the paint from chipping, I use clear coat polyurethane in several layers. The goggle parts I found in several places such as hardware stores or on-line, or I made my own. As to money, its really not that expensive to make, it does take time however. the light at the end of the clip was a hacked apart tea-light.

I order all of my goggles through Amazon. Used to be that I could get them locally through area hardware stores but it seems that said stores are no longer willing to accommodate us steam builders. Regardless, Amazon offers a rather large selection of goggles at highly competitive prices.

Sorry, see the above comment, but ill post it again for integrity sake. I either bought the parts online, in a hardware store, or made them myself. It mainly depends on what you want them to look like versus parts availability. If you cant find the part you want or need, make it!

@ Kenneth - if you want ideas, you'll have to come up with your own. Everything I create is copyrighted and cannot be recreated exactly as shown without my express permission or the permission of the parent company Omega Corp. Productions in accordance to U.S. copyright laws. However, what I am trying to provide is an example, a stepping stone or some form of frame work for those of you out there that are fans of steampunk so that you can come up with your own ideas. That's half the fun!

Check your local hardware store. That's where I found mine. Look for Oxy-acetlyene goggles. If they don't have them ask them to order them for you.

John C. Barry do you know this is the process of creativity and having fun in making something. it doesn't have to work, it can just simply looks "cool". its the best part of creating something. so my question to you is.. do you have anything cool? or something you find cool? just sad that you get angry over the "idea" of steampunk its just a fantasy sci-fi.
@q.mothcompany925211 жыл бұрын
Sci-Fi is meaning Science Fiction. Fiction is a fancy word for lying. So you admit these are not for true time travel. As for what is cool, yes, I believe true time travel is cool. Thus, items which may be useful for true time travel might also be cool.

@ Christine - In fact, I do! Pricing is based on the level of intricacy and finish desired. My email address is kmclain0880@gmail.com for contact and quote purposes so feel free to contact me. I have now also included a link to my webpage in the video description. More works are posted there and I have many more to post when the time presents itself.

I think I w understand why no video! As an artist I was very upset to see my work all over the Internet and in target and at trade show and rodeos without my permission! This was several thousand dollars later and well don't even bother the system is set up to screw the little guy. I can't even go into shopping malls with having a fit! Haven't been in one for six maybe seven years! I only do word of mouth and then maybe not! I just do it for me now!
