This is such an awesome box, I am not surprised you sold it. It is so beautiful! You are such an inspiration to me. I have been having to learn to let go of stuff too. Right now I am putting together a big box of beads for a lady who posted on the pay it forward page that she sells jewelry to help support her family, and boy, do I have more beads than I need. I am meeting her tomorrow, and I am sure she will be flabbergasted by how much I am giving her. She has a DD son, and that touched my heart, and she is so sweet. I love to be able to pass things on that can help someone out with.

I will watch all your videos. You speak my language, so it’s easy to watch the whole thing, I love how you explain EVERYTHING you do. I hate when people leave out tiny procedures because I guess they think we know. Thank you!

Finally, I had time to watch the whole process. I've been trying to and dying to since I've seen photos at the end - I know, cheating, but I had to forward to the last minute, that's how much time I had in the past few weeks... Genius ideas from zipper to wire, and that fabulous tea light and wonderful colors. Even on the back that's not visible :-) I love the finished shadow box! Hugs, Ildiko Ps: Last spring when we went to a steampunk wedding in Las Vegas...

I really appreciate that you use real found objects rather than just a bunch of stuff that you can buy in the store. More and more 'mixed media' artists that came from scrapbooking are just using brand new stuff for found object art.

My first time watching you and it won't be the last! I was meandering around in wood and plaster substrates one minute, daydreaming an encaustic box shrine the next and somehow stumbled across this charming video. I don't have enough patience for the usual messy, disorganized, well meaning but air headed ramblings of the typical tutorial videos but I LOVED this, I really did. Perhaps we ramble in sync. Thank you. Oh, and both Adobe and Silverlight do seem to update an awful lot! Cheers, Lulu.

This box turned out beautifully! This is a truly inspiring video, making me want to go and get my hands on one of my art panels! Gel medium is expensive, but I use it because it forms a waterproof bond. That way, I don't have to worry about compromising the integrity of the piece if I am planning to add many layers of thinned-down (with water) acrylic paints.

This is really cool! And it's nice to see that men do this type of art too. I want to make something steampunk for my son's birthday but I want it to be something usable. I was wondering if there is a glue durable enough to attach things to something like a canvas briefcase and have the parts stay on. If so do you know what glue would be best? I would want to use metal parts and plastic tubing on the canvas bag.
