Hello Martin, Thanks its an informative video on the lights and installation; In a recent video you installed a Pelican Case as a Top Box.... I thought it was a great idea....so I have installed a pelican case from Bunnings on to my Triumph Street Scrambler 900....works well....David....Adelaide....Street Scrambler 900......

Hi Martin, fanatic video and gave me inspiration after removing the same set of Stedi’s to go onto my new Hornet 750. Do you happen to know if the same harness for the Sumitomo plug is the same for the hornet as the TransAlp please? Thanks again, Lisa

Nice setup I will do mine as yours :). The two Sumitomo plugs are they male or female, please? Did you have any issues from the installation onwards with switching since it is connected directly to the Honda harness? Thanks Andrea

This is the connector that I purchased, it has both. I think that it was a male connector. www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002838169228.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.17.21ef1802FIT470

I've been considering a pair of lights like these. Not just to be seen, but I don't reckon the stock Tansalp headlight is all that bright, as shown in your night demonstration. Not that I ride at night much, but just for when I do. How much did you spend on the conversion?
@HardPackedADV11 ай бұрын
Around $130 AUD in total. Spot lights $48 each, Plug $13.41, Bracket $18.58

That’s the only thing I don’t like about my Transalp is the low beam on the the headlight kinda sucks I’ve been trying to figure out a way to mount a set without crash bars
@HardPackedADV11 ай бұрын
You could easily adapt the light to mount to the plastic or off the side of the forks.

Hi, did you have to set the lights up to be recogised by the bike by using the short service connector at all? If so, what was the procedure? Also is it the female plugs you need? Thanks.

Yes use the the Short Service Connector, and this Sumitomo plug: 2 Pin Sumitomo plug - www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002838169228.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.17.21ef1802FIT470

Hello -I ordered the Stedi lights for my Transalp XL750 and installed them. They look great! But when it came time to do the electrical connections, there was only ONE connector under the flexible rubber "condom". The Sumitomo plug was not there -only the one with the green dots. Any idea where I can find the correct one? Right now I have the lights on the bike, but not plugged in. I purchased the bike in Canada this past February. Any clues where they might have hidden the stock aux lighting connectors would be most helpful. Cheers!
@HardPackedADV6 ай бұрын
Did you happen to look at the other side of the bike to see if there are plugs there?
@westeagle006 ай бұрын
@@HardPackedADV Yes I checked the other side as well -to no avail. I just saw a posting saying that those connectors are not included on the North American Transalps. Not sure what to do next. Need to find a harnes like the one Honda uses for their optional Honda aux lights I suppose. Not sure how available it would be.

@brianmac35909 ай бұрын
does it matter how you wire up the connector ?
@HardPackedADV9 ай бұрын
It will depend on the LED's that you are connecting. The Stedi brand can go either way. Best to check with your lights manual.

Hi there, If I want to connect the Givi S322 in a similar way, the only parts I probably need are the sumitomo plugs is that correct? Thanks a lot.
@HardPackedADVАй бұрын
Yes I believe that that is correct, or use a small wire to join the two plug ports. If the engine light remains on, ride the bike for about an hour with turning the bike on and off a few times and sometimes the "check engine" light will turn off.
@YannisPapaioannouАй бұрын
Is this because of the Givi lights specifically or you had similar issues with the engine light? Thanks
@HardPackedADVАй бұрын
Not specific to the Givi lights.

Hi Martin, thanks for the video. I think I've done everything you did but unfortunately while it lets me select fog lights the on/off blue bar on the dash just flashes and the lights don't come on. Any suggestions?
@HardPackedADV10 ай бұрын
Did you use the Check Short jump plug or similar?
@theonlyatg10 ай бұрын
@@HardPackedADV Yes I was able to set the fog lights to on in the service menu so the option to switch them on and the blue bar shows but if I highlight the on nothing happens. Maybe I'm stupid, are the led lights polarity sensitive?
@HardPackedADV10 ай бұрын
Most LED lights are polarity sensitive ie Positive to positive. The Stedi lights that I fitted are wired to match the colours so I am assuming that they polarity sensitive.
